Oh come on, he is! The only “hard” thing a burgeoning O. Gat player has to learn is TU from crouch and/or doing TU as late as possible.
Any scrub who wants to learn a shoto-type char would do best to learn O. Sagat over Ryu/Ken

one more ? what does o and n mean?
Yeah, heh in my opinion…Old Balrog is a lot harder to deal with then New. For some reason the straight rushes can actually trade with his fireball, so we both end up getting knocked down. Plus, downback MK/RH doesn’t work as well because his fist is already fully extended. Most of the time you get hit. Best strategy is to always throw fierce fireballs (so u both get knocked down if it actually trades) also, when he is in range…standing far strong to push him back. That move will stop his rushes clean and at a distance. If he starts jumping like a mad man, all the same anti air techniques work just like on new rog.

O = old (old-style characters, you need a code to select them)
N = new (new characters, regular ST incarnation)
NKI, I remember you said you always play as red Chun-Li in ST… that was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this: http://www.cornerstorecomics.com/af_sf_microman.html
Hahaha…nice. If I actually bought action figures, that would be the first one I’d get.
-Nicholai!
  Best strat ever.
Oh, alright. Thanks.
S.strong beats T.hawks dive attack. try to zone, don’t rush. Eat a 360 and it’s game over
Whenever you hold start when selecting super, I think Dee-Jay can shoot max outs faster for some reason
If you’re Dhalsim, what do you do about Blanka repeatedly doing jump in FK/MK + C. MK?
Maybe it’s just the lag from online play, but I had a hell of a time countering it.
If I managed to knock him down, I could use standing FK to keep him on the ground, but once he gets in the air again, I’m stuck blocking.
heh space yourself, the second he lands hit standing strong then either standing fierce immediately. Most of the time he will he will try to jump right away but wont be able to get it off if you time the fierce right. If you cant just through out st. RH. Do this until he starts hesitating to jump and then you are free to throw fireballs every so often to push him back even more. Once he backs you into the corner teleport your ass out and rinse repeat =D You will annoy the shit out of every blanka online. This strat will even rush down Hyper Blanka for free =D

Blanka’s underrated he’s good for like ChunLi and Vega players!
Dhalshim…nah I dont like that for Blanka!!
It is a misconception that O. Sagat is easy to play imo. I always do better with N Ryu or N Ken or Guile than I do with O. Sagat (and yes I’m talking real ST not AE).
Maybe it’s because O. Sagat can give a false sense of security.
I stand by my assessment. I mean sure O. Sagat isn’t at Vega level stupidity, but its not like he’s rocket science. I think it is the false sense of security, because sometimes I forget that even though his fbs have little recovery there is still SOME recovery. If you don’t play him too loose (really recklessly) I think he’s dominator without too much effort.
Have y’all already seen the insanity sample movies? I don’t know if video-opera or go for broke ever linked to these.

st2_sample14.wmv (that’s the, um, 14th link from the top)
Daigo(Ryu) vs. Gunze(Zangief) TIGHT!!
BTW - the reason there’s no OSagat on the insanity DVD is because INH couldn’t find a japanese player skillful enough to use such a hard character.
Hey, thanks for the linkage!
lol!!! Pass the pipe!
Well, since its AE, O. Sagat sucks. There does seem to be some CE Sagat usage at least from what the picture for sample 8 says
AE is fun I dunno why ppl hate on that game!
I can tell you’re a master just by reading your amazing breakdown of Vega gameplay. Hell, why didn’t I just do those two moves repeatedly at EVO and get first?
Oh, that’s right, because you’re WRONG. Vega is best played as a complex footsie/poke character, while also utilizing his very fast jump speed and large throw range.
If you actually watched me play at EVO, you’d notice I rarely wall dove because doing that over and over gets you killed. Crouching strong is a great attack but it doesn’t work if your opponent has half a brain.
Try not to act like you know what you’re talking about when you obviously don’t. Vega may be a great character because of his fast speed and high priority, but he sure as hell has a lot of strategy to his gameplay as well. Just because you have a grudge against him or something doesn’t mean you should go shitty all over everybody who ever used him by pretending he’s a two-move character.
Because it’s not a perfect translation of the earlier games… some stuff is different. I think I remember people complaining about balance issues as well. shrugs
Hrm… are the console versions of AE identical to the arcade AE? Is it a “perfect arcade translation”?
