SFIV music had it’s flaws but it did’nt suck (Indestructable is a major exception, that sucked donkey balls). I think the problem with Vanilla’s music is that it all pretty much sounded the same. It used the same synthisisers and keyboard melodies for most of the songs, only a few stood out. There is more variety in music styles in Super; Dudleys house music remix of his stage in 3S is great, Daft Punk style in Balrog, who would have thunk. Spanish Guitar in Vega’s, and and a nice Hip Hop beat in Cody’s. Some are more authentic like Dhalsims theme. Oh and teh stage themes are incredible and Hakan’s theme as well. Construction Site really is a great stage to fight on, Solar Eclips fits the stage and the theme. I think the direction of Super had more freedom than in the last one because they probably were catering to the ‘big suits’ more than the fans. This one is a pure fan service.

nah, but seriously, most of it really did suck. There was just too much going on at the same time. Too many instruments, sound effects and like you said, the themes lost individuality. The new theme have personality. The other ones were like Alpha 3: Horrible Techno nonsense with no easily discernable melody.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m fine with Techno. I have lots of it, but not this kind of stuff… Some of the themes, like Ryu’s are just EAR PIERCING with that synth.
Not much real evidence to show for that. The styles are too ridiculously different. Your guess is as good as mine, but I at least have the power of comparison on my side when you go from one soundtrack to another. Something you know that is verifiable?
ROLF the fact that you put C.Viper on God Tieir loses you any kind of credibility whatsoever. I like Chun Li’s theme ALOT and think it should be Top Tier, however I would’nt put her on top JUST because…

Man, people are listing Guy’s theme as F tier? How can you not love that funky sound?! Not to mention its a mix of one of the most classic Final Fight themes, imo

I have said this time and time again: If anyone could strip the themes of all the extra bullshit (“MY NAME IS VIIIIIIPER, CRIMSON FIIIIGHTER” wtf is this shit) I’m sure they would be much better. but like they are, they’re just a pot of fuck. Yeah.
Yeah, what’s wrong with guy’s theme? I know it’s a bit slow, but remember, he fought crime in Final Fight, it sounds like it’s a reference to crime fighting shows of the 70’s-80’s.
Cody’s theme, fuck, I’m not a fan of hip-hop, but damn, I like.
The new themes are excellent but when are we getting the trailer music like Seth mentioned?
No idea, and I don’t care about their tiers. Music is way too subjective to be labeled in tiers. Beside, everyone knows Guy’s theme is amazing. Only way one can think otherwise is if they’re youngins and just don’t know about that funky beat.

I <3 Juri’s theme alot, the opening riff sets the tone very nicely on how “evil” she is. Cody’s theme is also supreme, gotta crank that up over the other audio when I finally get mah hands on this game.

I really like Adon’s, Fei Long’s, Balrog’s, and Cody’s. All the others are pretty good too, I dont like the slow Hakan theme nor do I like the 70s game show Guy theme. Oh well, most are 10/10!
