I’d be down with that, but that’s tough for me considering my region is just too cool to sleep on.
I totally forgot online Smash. I doubt that the netcode will impress me or anything but I expect it to be an improvement over Brawl, at least.
Ill be playing for the first few months regardless if I love it or hate it so I’m for it. I’m sure nobody is trying for dat aol Melee lolol
What, like 1999 AD from Chrono Trigger? I’d totally be up for that. If Snake and Sonic can get into a “Nintendo’s history” game on very tenuous connections, then I think Chrono and Marle have a fair shot since they were the leads of one of the best RPGs on the SNES.
Sure, I’m being silly and there’s no way this will happen… but one can dream.
Hah. Square ain’t playing that game. There’s no way deserving characters like Chrono or the oft-demanded Geno get in without Squeenix shoehorning Cloud, Sephiroth, or (even worse)Lightining into Smash.
Besides, Square, like their buddies at Capcom seem to be allergic to good PR moves.
You know, up until a week or so ago I would have asked you in all seriousness “And what’s wrong with Lightning? I like her.”
Then I saw pictures of her in some astoundingly stupid ‘catgirl’ outfit that makes no damn sense for the character. That was about the point I started saying the same profanity over and over while kicking a wall until it hurt (my foot, not the wall). This was perhaps melodramatic, but I felt it was justified.
Not that this particularly matters either way, as Square-Enix characters showing up in Smash 4 is incredibly unlikely.
I could easily see Squeenix trying to push Lightning on Nintendo when they try to ask for any characters lol. There’s a good fanbase following for Geno which is amazing since he appeared in 1 and 1/50th of a game (guest appearance in M&L Superstar Saga) and the main game he was in was released nearly 18 years ago. He’d probably be a good fit and he’d also be a good representative for Square and the game itself. The only other character I could see being in top running in a realistic manner would be Sora since the KH series has had more representation on the Nintendo side more so than Final Fantasy in recent years.
I imagine Sakurai asking for either of those 2 characters and then Toriyama going ‘Only if you take Lightning with him…you don’t even have to pay us for her!’. This would be followed by Iwata asking where is their version of Lightning Returns and then that’s when negotiations would break down.

You think they might reveal a new character in today’s Direct?
Out of any Square character, Chrono deserves it the most. But lightning has 0 chance.
Crono would also work…but the way Square has been treating that franchise for the past few years I’d doubt they’d even consider it even though they should.
Square Enix too busy focusing on Lightning’s bust size to worry about something like Smash.
That and making mobile games… but seriously, I like Lighting and find her classy and a bit hot in a non traditional way. But some of the costumes they have her rocking in Lighting Returns are like… ugh.
If they really wanted that type of female lead, they probably should have just had her switch places with her annoying sister at the end of XIII-2 or make up a unknown daughter that looks just like her so that it doesn’t seem as forced.
Luigi just got confirmed!
They showed off pics of Luigi in the Direct. I’m assuming he’ll be officially revealed this Friday.
Confirmed so far:
His neutral special is the same.
His dash attack is the same.
Still has the kidney jab.
No surprise there. I’ve always liked Luigi, glad to see him back.

Only thing that has me even interested in G&W is his bair. If they took it away I have no reason to use him over villager

Okay putting my hype aside for a second I hope that they give Luigi a few new moves in this game, I’d really like to see him get a move using the poltergust or some of his abilities from the RPG series like for example the Thunder Hand in SuperStar Saga or some of his abilities as Dreamy Luigi in Dream Team.
