One of the reasons I really want Owain is he’s basically a walking parody of the entire Fire Emblem series.
He’s ridiculously Overdramatic and theatrical, speaking in antiquicated
The names of his moves come from titles in the series (SACRED STONES!!! BINDING BLADE!!! RADIANT DAWN!!!)
Obsessed with justice, being a hero and his heroic lineage.
He makes references to past Fire Emblem chracters (BY IKE’S MULLET!!! BY THE RED HAIR OF ELIWOOD!!!)
Hell the guy even makes references to different series altogether (SKYWARD… SHIELD!!!)
Not to mention from a gameplay standpoint he fits in perfectly because of how many classes you can make him and different types of weapons he can use in Awakening giving him a massive pool of attacks that can be used in his moveset.
Not to mention he was among the top 4 favorite characters in Awakening from a poll in japan (among the children characters anyway, along with Severa, Inigo, and Lucina). I’d be surprised if, at the very least, he isn’t an assist trophy, along the lines of Lyn but he screams out one of his special moves when he attacks
That would be a disservice though, he really deserves to be a playable character.
With the Melee tournament over, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I do maintain there are some issues with the game, but my respect for it has grown significantly since before the weekend started. That was very fun to watch!
If you care about Smash showing up at Evo next year then I’d again take to Twitter/miiverse and express thanks to them for letting the game be streamed as well as how fun it was to watch it. Even though I don’t people should have to do this it’s a nice goodwill tactic and maybe they’ll remember it and not have issues. I’d probably even put in their head about new smash being at EVO and if you’re looking forward to buying it say that as well. It puts $ signs in their eyes and you know how corporations are about that.

It is a terrible shame to see one of the pillars of modern video gaming be allowed to just waste away like he has, but at least Mega Man finally gets a chance to shine in a truly great game again.
Capcom obviously has no idea what to do with the IP anymore and Mega Man would be so much better served if he were in Nintendo’s capable hands–It’s clear as day that they’ve treated him with more dignity and respect in one simple reveal than Capcom has in YEARS.
I am so very glad that Mega Man will have the opportunity to win over an entirely new generation of gamers the same way he won me over back in the day.
Mega Man is as important to gaming history as Mario is, and its way past time he got his due props.
