Pac-man is still Mr. Namco for most people and he’d probably fit in the most aside from a Tales character. Pac-man would probably make the most sense but it’s probably also going to depend upon what Namco has coming out next year that could be easily marketable. The new pac-man game comes out this year IIRC so by the time this game comes out it’ll be too late.
There are not enough gifs in the universe to express how stoked I was to see Mega Man in the new Smash. I didn’t think it was possible to make Rock look anymore cool AND adorable at the same time in a video game but they pulled it off somehow. What’s more, they made Top Spin, freaking Top Spin, an attack, one you won’t take damage from when you use!
Villager from Animal Crossing? Niiiiiice. Wait, he can CATCH projectiles, store them in his pocket and send them back? Crap. Gonna have to think twice about throwing stuff at that dude.
Ah, I’m getting wood just thinking about all the glorious remixes and arranged themes for this game. Brawl’s soundtrack was so broken.
I’ve watched the Developer Direct video a few times now and I’ve been compiling a list of definite/probable information as well as some informed guesses.
Anything with a “?” is an educated guess. Hopefully the official site will eventually list movesets like they did with the Dojo for Brawl.

Simply put, the physics are still brawl-like and sakurai refuses to compromise with the overall gameplay. There were a lot of subtleties in the gameplay vids that already show that it’s more or less brawl 2.0 with more tchotchke.
