Glad to see my main made it in. I hope Zelda gets more buffs, she was better in Brawl but still got completely destroyed by most of the cast. She’s not quick, dies easily, but has decent smashes. As a mage type character, Zelda needs better ways to handle close combat and get away. Din’s fire was much improved in Brawl, but was very easy to dodge and only really useful in free-for-alls.
I also found it hilarious how they had to nerf the shit out of Shiek in Brawl, but left characters like Fox and Falco largely intact when they were better than Shiek in Melee.
I’d say zelda was her own worst enemy and not so much the rest of the game.
Short hop nayru’s love was applicable to keep people from getting to close cause you could take your landing inertia and slide. but I agree her methods in keeping distance were limited.
Overall her moveset was very linear and weak. I mean nothing about the broad killed except for sweet spot fairs, which isn’t all to problematic to hit but like peach that seriously is a porblem when you have only one true liable means to kill someone in a game with hit decay.(such a stupid concept) her grab game was solid but unfortunately the activation was a bit slow to make any substantial headway
I like brawl shiek, I just hate that she like the rest of the general roster she has limited killing ability. I think the tether recovery was a great idea, I like her throws and chain grabs I like her pushback in her recovery, but she just can’t deliver the kills or a proper gimp.
Marth on the other hand is virtually unchanged in everything except his sword range. and his recovery got better. Sakurai can’t possibly be thinking about fairness when it comes to this game, that’s just impossible, it has to be something else.
The only third party characters that have any business in Smash are already in(Sonic and Mega Man)…
If you really wanted to stretch you could maybe toss in Simon Belmont, but that’s really pushing it honestly.
I’m also impressed at the fact that this new Smash already has several interesting and potentially viable female characters, and there’s still a ton more they can use like Dixie Kong, Lyn, and Lucina.
The pic of the day that runs Monday through Friday will be on break starting Dec. 27. I’ll be back on Jan. 6, so I hope everyone has a happy new year!!
