His character design is brilliant. Teleport is the most fun up.b in the game, shadow ball was an excellent b move, most of his moves are perfectly appropriate. He just needs balancing.
Down.B- Needs to be changed, overall useless move
Forward.B- Needs to be changed, move is never used what it’s intended for
F.air- Needs a bigger hitbox
N.air- Needs a bigger/more solid hitbox (People hit me out of this move all the time with un-disjointed moves)
A couple other of his moves need to be a bit faster, and his L cancels need to be faster and he’d be a good character. Overall, his character concept is solid, and he is tons of fun to play, they just made him suck stat-wise. All the key concepts to his character are there, he just needs a bit more power.
That being said, I’ve beaten much better players than me with mewtwo, he’s not hopeless.
edit- Sakurai needs to just update EVERYTHING we know about the game already to the site this week, and then start on interesting shit asap.
Character Design =/= How powerful the character is…
Shadow Ball/Teleport are perfect for his character. All of his tilt and smash moves are perfect, and actually good moves. Most of his air movies are on point, just need slight alterations due to his weird air movement. Again, everything is fine except the two B moves I mentioned in terms of design, his design is fine. If they upped the power/speed of his moves in melee to land him middle/high tier, with the exact same moveset he’d be my main.
Balance =/= Design. A badly designed character is Pichu heh. Or, for that matter, Bowser. Bowser is one of the few characters that just sucks all around, none of his moves are that interesting and almost everything is too slow to be useable.

Actually, outside of being overly floaty when he jumped (worse than Luigi and not as useful as Peach), having a somewhat useless air dodge (though perhaps it will never be useful given how useful his Teleport UP+B is once you get it down), Confusion’s utter stupidity when it came to “reflecting” things, Hypnosis’s somewhat short stun time, and having some weird/non-user friendly hitboxes on some of his attacks, I don’t think I would really care for much of a “complete overhaul” since those were most of things that made him difficult to play to me.
…Unless that’s what meant when you said “completely overhauled”.
As for the person that asked about what (other) legendaries are playable, none of them are bipedal outside of Mew (who could possibly end up being a clone despite being able to learn everything) and Deoxys. Everything else is either on all its limbs (I was going to put “all fours”, but then I remembered Giratina has a centipedal look), is bipedal but primarly flies (Lugia or Ho-oh), or has no freaking legs at all (Rayquaza? and Darkrai).
They’ll probably all be Pokeball releases, anyway.
I wonder if we’ll get all the Regis, now that I think about it, since Groudon proves that they are at least up to Ruby and Sapphire.

He is the poster boy for D/P as one of the new unique type combinations (Fighting/Steel) heavily used in Japan to promote the game. Besides, he’s badass.
I’d be more upset about mewtwo being cut than anyone else, he has so much potential that went untapped in melee. Doc? I love him, but he’s cuttable. Pichu? Fucking stupid, cut. Roy/Marth? One, or both of them could easily go and not affect the game. Falco? Don’t really care. Young link? Again, boring, who cares.
Ganon really needs to stay, with new moves. Mewtwo needs to stay, with the same moves for the most part, but more powerful and faster. I don’t see why they would cut mewtwo, again, he has SO much more potential and is infinitely cooler than the clones.
fuck putting more pokemon as playable characters in, i dont know but if they put more in it’ll jusst feel like a sell out to me. I mean i could enjoy maybe 1 more well known pokemon (a first generation pokemon particularly) but i wouldnt want more than that
Mewtwo is the fucking MAN. Went to my friends house tonight and played for a few hours, pulled out a few wins with Mewtwo, including one vs fox. Not a bad player either, this guy is better than I am, Mewtwo is just the fucking man.
I don’t understand why people don’t like him, the only thing I can figure is ignorance. You don’t know anything about him and see that he sucks => hate.
You guys can think what he wants, hes fuckin awesome.
