I was listening to the ending of Stairway to Heaven when I looked up the Waddle Dee’s of Doom. I suggest everyone does the same, was pretty epic.
Lots of games have desperation moves that can only be done with low life. Its different, yes, but not dumb.
Well I always find it stupid, to be honest. I don’t like desperation moves, decreasing damage taken, or increasing damage done when a player gets low on life or behind in the rounds. Hopefully you’ll be able to turn the pity smash option off.
If you’re a skilled player, then the least skilled of the two player won’t be able to hit the higher level with the “pity smash”.
Yes. My penguin mang gots good specials and a good final smash. Plus he looks like James Brown when he starts his FS and then goes orchestra style on your ass.
I’m betting when you turn off Smash Balls it turns off Pity Smashes. Everyone calm the fuck down.

That’s what my thoughts were, too. In the end, if you were being utterly slam-dunked throughout the entirety of the match, a Pity is not going to do anything to turn the tide drastically. Especially the case for 1 v 1s. If it was such a thing that both players were granted a Pity while they were on their final lives, after a double SD/suicide, then maybe there would be something more interesting to consider.
But again, this is more of a measure implemented for the sake of free for alls, just like how you could count on getting Lightning Bolts, Super Shrooms and Blue Spiked Shells in Mario Kart, if you were like in 7th or 8th place. If you’re dead last, then the Pity might be a good way to at least be able to spite your tormentors before you’re put out to pasture for good.
