Super SFIV Arcade - Akuma Changes

Keep paying attention to the videos that come out. I just saw a Juri vs Akuma one. I may be mistaken by the footage quality, but air fireball didn’t seem to build any meter unless it touched them.

Which would be a significant change.

Watch @ 00:52 , the air fireball completes one bar of Akuma’s super without touching the Vega player so it definitely builds meter, air fireball meter gain was very minimal so I don’t think it has changed, could be wrong and they made it even less though.

Am I being paranoid or is EX SRK dealing less damage? Maybe because it’s done on Gief…

On the other hand, Gief not knocking down with EX green hand seems will make this matchup even harder for him vs Akuma! At least coward copter is out so it would balance things out for him.

Edit: EX SRK damage seems unchanged and my mind was probably playing tricks on me, tried to replicate Gief’s health loss in the video in a best of 5 set, the scenario that happened @ 2:16 to be exact(used the round circles underneath the health bar for measurement), his health is @ the 3rd circle, Tokido punished him with cr.jab xx lk. tatsu, EX SRK and it brings his health down to less than a circle, when I tried with EX SRK it did the same in SSFIV and with regular SRK health left was more than one circle.

Now if it it’s only possible to see if Akuma’s shaku’s damage/stun was improved or not…

I personally play Akuma because I dont want a herp derp Ultra character…

I play Akuma because he looks cool and has been my favorite character since childhood. If a SRK to U2 had gone down…well, yes please. I don’t give a crap about honor and who else would “hop on” the akuma bandwagon. It’d make him better and he’d still have tools that are unique and exclusive to him.

Just my take. Not trying to sway or insult other’s opinions.

I seriously don’t understand if Capcom didn’t swap SRK EX damage and shakunetsu.

would have been perfect,I’m disappointed with that point.

Ok, you’re the third person to mention this unprovoked by myself so I am confident I am not imagining things.

I assume they have improved tele recovery to possibly offset the escape tatsu nerf. This combined with Tokido saying Akuma is essentially the same is very good news for Akuma players. EX tatsu nerf be damned, I think we might have got out unscathed gentlemen.

The remaining questions should be centered on how the buffs/nerfs to the rest of the cast stack up for us in terms of match-up changes and of course how we fare against Yun and Yang.

Ryu’s trade ultra is a concern right now, though there’s a good chance we may be able to stuff that shit outright. Here’s hoping.

I’m really stoked Akuma has come out much the same. A while back we all agreed that no changes would ostensibly be a buff in itself and its great to know we don’t have to dick about re-learning stuff due to heavy handed nerfage ala vanilla > Super.

AE supposedly drops in Sydney this weekend (tomorrow). I can’t wait :smiley:
