actually that was me(tone) and my gf(rina). playing some good people shows me that I gotta start playing that game again, lol. yes, its possible to get rusty in a puzzle game. puzzle fighter still owns for free.
apoc… obviously I invented diamond trick :rolleyes:. I was playing it at home eating some cheetos and i thought “what would happen if i put in between this two lines and flip it just once?” Bamn… there it was. Diamond trick!! then I called up all my friends and told them. they in turn went out and told everyone they knew… and there u have it the story of how i discovered it.
this game isnt completely tier based, i got my ass wooped by dan over kaillera like 5 times! i was even using ken, the only person i could beat him with. his name was ab(sr). if anyone wants to play a match over kaillera, my aim name is klakalou and my icq is 47797477. i also goto fugu sometimes and look for players.
oh yah i use final burn and kawaks, i prefer final burn.

Ummm, well the last time i was competitive at Puzzle Fighter was about 5 1/2 years ago. And i haven’t been into street fighter since the first few months of alpha 2 either. Man i’m out of it. I really doubt i’d make it to any tournaments unless we try something at EVO next year. I was there just to see the old faces…too bad there aren’t too many OG’s playing anymore. Hey, i’ll definitely try to regain some puzzle fighter skills by next year’s evo!

Hmm…diamond trick? I finanly understand how my friend sends loads of crap to me each time he breaks a diamond. Luckily I can’t play this game well so I only play it like once every 6-7 months, but this game I cannot grasp. I’ll stick to Dr. Mario, Tetris Attack, and regular Tetris
Okay, here’s a challenge. How do you survive with Dan? Even if it’s not practical, I like using Dan for the challenge, and for some laughs. It’s also good for bragging rights when you win with him.

Dan is great because of how much he drops. combo just three of those 3x3’s. It does so much damage. just make sure you bury them if you drop anything. or you can drop really quick(hopefully faster then your opponent) and see just how far ahead the next red breaker is. YOOSHA

OK, I’m an average puzzle player, but a beginner at PF… One question: what makes Ryu so bad? Is it because you can prepare by stacking all your red on the left and all your green on the right?
Heheh. Ryu sucks because when he attacks, it only takes one gem to clear the middle and you’ll usually clear more in the way of counters. Also, if his attack is strong but won’t kill you in one shot, you’re high up on the screen so when you break the yellow, alone, you’re gonna send a shitload just because of the height at which it’s stacked.
In short, just have a yellow crash gem somewhere along the side of the middle and unless Ryu kills you with his attack, he’s only making it harder on himself. That, plus, he has the easiest pattern to build against.
