Watts, ill donate brand new sanwas and sticks if we can get ST on a better cabinet. ST tourneys during 3s thursdays (or wnfâs)? I played some on the showcase wed night and couldnât hit df on p1 and db on player 2 for the life of me.
I have to agree with Paro. I myself am having big difficulties hitting diagonals on the ST showcase. My request/suggestion would be to swap the Anniversary Edition in the Astro City with the ST board in the showcase. I think that would be a good start.
im hoping watson just gets better 360âs
please no japanese sticks on american cabinets
if it went down to it and we had to go to the sit down japanese cabs, please put ST on head to head, i hate elbow fucking on SF2AE
believe me when i say im definitely working on everything and taking everyones voice into consideration. i had some trouble location some of the old wico 360âs which were the same sticks from shgl days. the new ones are pretty shitty so i passed on some of those. please be patient. this arcade is dedicated to making all the games work in tip-top shape and i havent forgotten about the ST fans gonna be doing something for that cab and the american mvc2 soon as i can.
as far as 3s, thanks for the nice support. gootecks ran everything smooth from what i heard and we had 30-32 people. pretty awesome for a game that isnt for ADD kids imo. anyways, another 3s tourney will be run next week during WNF and hopefully we can branch off successfully and make âthird strike thursdaysâ a good event for all the hardcore and the new 3s fans.
thanks again for all the support and see you all soon.
for you SBO fans we will be streaming that here so you dont miss anything and dont stay home cooped up with your 2 friends mr keyboard and mr mouse⌠gonna have gootecks visiting and also aris streaming tekken tonight.
More power to you if you can find the Wico 360 but those are difficult to find. I actually own the new 360âs and they are on all my cabs and they are shitty. If you want to go American I think the best thing in the market right now is the Happ Competition:
They said these are actually better quality than the Happ but the same exact design as the original.
I know youâre old school and you want to put ST in an old school Hanaho showcase cab. But I think for today and to attempt to get new people into ST, the best way to go is head 2 head Japanese. I mean for the most part besides Marvel games, everyone doesnât like American anymore (even though I like it better). For the most part everyone uses a TE and are use to the feeling of Japanese controls.
haha heres the thing nightwing. most of the ST players that come here play on the current ST cab with the current happ comp sticks in it and have no complaints. theres a group of older dudes from my era that play on it constantly without issues. im trying to find a medium for all of you so to say âmostâ people want it on h2h is kind of⌠but like i was saying, i located some old school wicos and they will be here soon so lets give those a run and see how it goes.
The main problem is if I go play ST anywhere else (whether its a tournament Revalations/SoCal Regionals/EVO or casuals at a friends place), its going to be be either a japanese cabinet or a supergun running ps2 convertors. I have not played in a ST tournament using a US cab since '05. 6 years straight of playing on japanese sticks will do that to you. If ralph has an extra ST board laying around maybe a japanese setup in addition would be possible. Head to head is whatever, i just want a clean setup.
so the fight ended and it was a bit slow⌠then i sat back and thought about going home a bit early then poof! its crowded! thats what i get for trying to be lazy for once hahaâŚ
One option you have for the ST cab is to add a Sanwa JLW stick to the cab. It feels just like a Happ with a round gate and you can swap in a square gate to the get JLF feel. The spring is a bit softer than a Happ stick and a bit stiffer than a JLF (I personally find it has a very good feel to it). Iâve got a couple we could test out if you want to see how it feels. The best part is that it uses the same mount and QDâs as the happ thatâs in it now so itâs a very easy swap in place of the current sticks. Iâll even come out and install it for you if you want.
Also I noticed that the corners on the current Happ sticks are very hard to find. This is typical of a warn out actuator and can be fixed with a new one. Iâve actually noticed this with the new IL sticks compared to the old Happ sticks. They both have their faults and I think the JLW stick solves all of them. Another thing to note about the JLW is you can add a bat or ball top to it so you can have the best of both worlds. Itâs basically Sanwas version of a Happ stick that does both round and square gates and also Ball or Bat tops. Just something to consider if your looking for a cheap and easy fix for the ST cab.
Hell Iâd be willing to donate a couple of sticks and buttons to the cab if youâll let me.
BTW I was there last Wed and had a good time (GGâs to everyone I played). Iâll be back looking for some more competition in the near future. Thanks for keeping the Arcade scene alive =D
