SUNDAY March 22, Fudruckers MVC2/SF3S/TVC/SF4/HDR Concord, Ca, Console Tourney

Good game to all. It was cool meeting you guys. Hopefully I’ll be able to show up to the next one.

Apparently the Fuddrucker’s manager said something along the lines of “Any you guys want to do it again, it’s cool”.

Oh and Haunts, I guess I have your PS2/PS3 Adapter. :xeye:

We had one too many converters, I think Ramin or Nima was supposed to call you. Just in case they didn’t, PM me so I can give it to ya.

So we definitely threw them enough business to have the tournament there again? Pretty successful then turnout wise.

Fun tournament, was great seeing everyone of course but the bracket issue was a little out of control to be honest. I know the tournament turned out a bit bigger than most people anticipated, but a lot of the shenanigans in SFIV and SF3 were pretty frustrating for those of us who were driving/barting from hella far.

My suggestion would be to print out brackets for each game and have them at each station. I think the going back and forth to report win/losses is what really fucked everything up.

GGz Neiman & Patmonsta. Imma kill both you guys next time tho. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah of course dude. I honestly thought it fell out of my bag when I was over there but really just needed a converter to play so I’m glad you said something. Looks like everything worked out.

Oh thanks man, I feel a lot better now. Jay said he would link up with one of you guys to grab it for me since I’m out that way just here and there. I think both Carlos Q and I learned to mark our shit next time we go to a tournament like this.

Had fun,t h anks for tourney.

yup. u damn near saw me cuz i was the only nigga wit a black coat a stockin cap and a red shirt… lol i felt i stood out… but FUCK MAN!! i shoulda did way better in SF4. I lost to patmonsta, it was close real close, i beat him the first set and he came back to win it, but it was all competitive. I didn’t bring my controller an had to use someone else’s… it jus didnt work out for me. Lol i was nervous too! fuckin redbulls had me playin mind games on myself… it was fun tho

Whoever threw this, man… good shit. Im always down for another. I had fun, even tho i waited 3 hours for my first match. Haha! Saw some talent up there

Shout outs for this hella fun tourney go to my boy Nima for holdin it down for the bay, hope we can do this again in a month, and shit blk-brotha whats good with some viper destiny battles!!!XBL, and then Neiman and haunts for showin support for 3S!! bcuz this game isnt goin no where yet nice meetin sqrl-master, and the UC davis crew, big shout out to my boy magus1234(viper destiny battles) thats all for now great event thnx for hosting again NIMA.

Good shit to everyone, Nima contact me. And since everyone is on here hanging out, how does a monthly tournament sound. NorCal needs a scene so badly, and it’s time for NorCal as a whole to step up.

Dude monthlies in Concord would be so sick. It’s a nice middle-ground location so no one has to drive really far to get there. Also special props shout-out to Magus1234 and Patmonsta for having sick C.Viper game. That bitch is too hard to play :looney: Too bad no one recorded Magus’ EX Seismo into ultra that sent Coopa to loser’s bracket.

Very good to see Anthony, Long, Doug, and other San Jose players again. I’m gonna have to take a road trip down there so I can actually get a chance to play you guys.

Can someone correct my top 8 results for SF4?

edited… thanks Haunts, I’m pretty sure it was my Ryu that you beasted on

1st Long (LPN), won with Ken, fought his way up with Bison/Ken
2nd Something Tucker, Bison
3rd Some Sagat guy, lost to LPN
4th Haunts, Sagat, Lost to Sagat Guy
5th tied Jack, Ryu (Lost to Haunts) and Coopa, Zangief (lost to 3rd place Sagat guy?)

The 5th place guy I beat was a Ryu player…

To everyone: the tourney well be much better next time in May. We will definetaly spend much more time planning this. I know a lot of you got frustrated with my brother Nima, but this is his first time trying to run something like this, and we all chipped in and helped as much as we can. Hopefully no one was discouraged from not coming again because of what happened. But please give us another chance, and it will definately run much smoother in May.

I only remember Top 3 in Marvel.

1st: Woo
2nd: RJ
3rd: Hiro.

24 people entered.

If we did monthly, I think that would be much better for NorCal, and since Concord is about an hour away from everyone, I think that’s reasonable.

If you want to do another on in Fuddruckers in May, that’s fine, but is there a way for us to do this again in April? And if so…

For those of you guys who are reading, who actually wants this to happen more often? I know I do, but I mean, if I’m the only one on this boat, it’s really not enough to make a scene happen for NorCal.

I feel like if we did a monthly tourney is would lose its novelty and there would be less attendance since it is happening so frequently. Plus if we have it in May, it gives more people more time to practice, and more of an incentive to make the trip to come and play.

Plus, i dont think i can the get the redbull girls every month

I think it’d be HELLA dope if you guys could run monthly tournaments. This was my first real tournament and I met/played cool people. I’d definitely go again if you guys were to run another one.

I could see where you’re coming from, but my perspective is coming from this:

EVO is in July (4 months)

Also, the guy who ran that other tourney in Oakland (Twice in a month) got different people showing up to both tournaments, but virtually the same volume of people. There are a lot of variables that obviously come into place. For me, I’m going at this not as a novelty, but as a regular thing to help the community grow, and having it being a real NorCal scene, instead of just SF/San Jose, which is what everyone seems to think of us. UCD, Sac, Vallejo (I don’t know everyone’s city, sorry) has a lot of talented cats. But let’s see how everyone responds to it first if we get responses from them. It’s already clear how I feel, and how you (Ramin) feel about this.

Anthony you should come down here, so me, you, vitto and my bro can talk all about this and start organizing. Just to get all the details out of the way.

Ramin, I’d be interested in helping out as well. I have some ideas.

I was just about to post this. If we do this in May thats just one tournament until EVO. Yes, we have a lot of potential in the Bay but in my eyes everyone still need a lot of work if we plan on doing serious damage at EVO.

I say do it every month for now until EVO then maybe every other month after that if you guys need a break.

PM me or hit me up on AIM so we can setup a time and place to meet. Possibly this week.

Hey you fogot about me! I’m tied for 4th. Lost to Micheal A. who is 3rd.
