All right mr. deelite…making an e-version avaiable is awesome, but only US people able to buy it is pretty dumb, specially considering they can pick up the physical bible with little effort.
Cut him some slack. I’m sure it has to do with distribution and publishing departments at Bradyguide.
For an e-version?
well for those that can’t buy it, there’s this:
thank the guy in the other thread who found this first.
obviously its mainly just move lists…but still handy if you were learning a tekken character and had this on your laptop/ipad whilst playing the game.
When I was looking into buying the StarCraft II eguide from bradygames I ran into the same problem. On emailing their customer service division, this was their reply.
Pretty sure things haven’t changed.
Disappointed by the brief time I’ve spent reading the guide so far. Only read the Jin and Hwoarang sections, but no mention that Jin can cancel Special Step into backdash? And for Hwoarang, unbelievably, no mention that when you hold forward to go into Flamingo stance after certain command normals, you get additional frame advantage that allows you to link more normals after. None of the combos listed make use of it, even though his strongest combos all have to use it. And this is all stuff I worked out day 1, with a few hours in training mode. Hopefully the other character sections are better.
Well I grabbed the ebook (although I said I wouldn’t) and I’m learning from it people noticing shit I don’t usually do so far so good
Anyone had any luck getting hold of this in the UK?
K Amazon changed back my estimated shipping to March 13. Lets hope it stays that way.
There’s a mistake in the bob chapter
It says you can’t follow up with anything after contorno farce. You can follow up with any non-ex version of giga jacker.
woah let me get this straight. they DIDNT find everything in the game? no buy from me!!
Your name suits you. I’m not talking about a tiny little thing, not mentioning that Hwoarang has completely different frames off his Flamingo transition normals and can do much better combos is a huge omission. Ass.
First of all the both MvC3 guides and the SCV guide from future press are amazing especially for not being japanese guides. Ive bought all 3 guides the MvC3, UMvC3 and SCV guide however i cannot recommend the SF X TEKKEN guide. Any guide that is missing at least 12 characters is missing way to much information so there is no way im buying the SF X TEKKEN guide. I had a feeling the characters might be missing so i asked the guy at the counter when i picked up my SE version of the game if i could take a quick look at the guide and im glad it did.
Even the MvC3 guide had the two missing DLC characters in the guide and i have a feeling with so much content missing at the moment that were most likely going to see an undated version of the guide. 12 DLC characters is a big update so i can even see CAPCOM announcing it as a new updated version of SF X TEKKEN when the characters are released which means an updated guide to go along with it ala UMvC3. If another more complete guide is released great chances are ill buy it because it will be filled some great information to read while im not playing the game.
Now if there is a chance that this is the only SF X TEKKEN guide released ill skip out on this one because i can always print an online guide that will feature all the information missing from the current guide.
was i theonly smart on the went to ebgames\Gamestop and preorder the guide and gotnthe book theday the game came out.
I’m not incredibly impressed with the guide. I mean yeah, frame data and move lists and enough info to get you started, but despite my godawful(by SRK standards) execution, -I- was able to beat their highest damage combo for Juri after like an hour of noodling in training mode, using less meter.
I also found their overviews to be lacking in places. When I flip to an overview of some Tekken character looking for a potential tag partner, I want the big picture. I want to know what spacing and playstyle that character is optimal for at a glance, not character nuances of how this or that link is tricky and how this move is best for opening people up.
Overall, 7/10. It’s not a bible, but it’s got most of the necessities.
I don’t know why anyone is mad that the 12 characters ain’t in the guide. The characters are not even released and the only way to get them is by hacking the game.
Why would anyone be mad especially if we didnt buy the guide? Anyway point is it would be better to wait for an updated version of the guide if its released and if not find a guide that will eventually have all 12 characters. The brady guide isnt free you know and if im paying for a guide i dont want it to be missing that much information. That or end up having to buy a newer version of the guide because the old one is outdated which is what happened with the MvC3 guide.
So yea i dont think anyone is mad maybe disappointed but definitely not mad about the guide missing 12 characters. On a side note i heard people saying coles not even in the guide. Are pac man and mega man even in the guide?
this guide has so many frame data errors, it’s not even funny. I play Guile/Paul for the moment and alone for those two I found 3 frame data errors. There might be even more for them, and I don’t even want to think about the other 36 characters.
and the other content is very poor and shallow on top. not a bit of advanced tactic for characters for the most part. bad combos that don’t even have important links / corner juggles / post tag juggles etc. this is a beginners guide, but nothing more. ah yeah, and the lacking of exclusive characters and the DLC chars is also a no-go.
In the preview that Seth posted there was a frame data error on Jin’s page also.
Are you serious? Can more confirm? I’m considering to cancel my order.
[edit] Canceled order.
