It’s a good solid heavy stick.
The bottom metal panel on mine is starting to rust. Will rustoleum stop it? Is there a place to get a replacement bottom metal panel? frustratingly the top and bottom corners are rounded differently, so it would be hard to get one custom made.
I’m sure it cant be that bad. Just sand the rust away, and hit it with a rust inhibiting paint. Also, the hardest part with making a new top panel is NOT the radius on the corners.
You still got to sand down all the rust first before painting or the rust will just spread under the paint.

I think this might be a common problem with the VS stick. When I changed the artwork, the panel was rusting big time. I sanded it lightly and painted it. When I get the chance, i’m going to sand blast it and have it chromed at my job.
Guys how the hell… I own a versus sh bought in Japan couple of years ago, playing yesterday the balltop fall in his place o.o I was shocked… I have opened the upper part where the buttons also are but I cannot understand how the mounting plate is sticked to the iron plate… It’s glued or whatever?! I had a round 1 TE before and it where held in place with the screws. Here looks not, what the hell!? Please hint me how to fix that stick X’D
The balltop? Or you mean the entire joystick? I have the regular VS too and the joystick is held with screws. You can explain me better in our Italian website if you want 
Sounds like the welds that hold the joystick mount to the top panel failed.

Yes, see those 4 burn marks on the underside of the panel.
That was how the mount was spot welded to the panel.
Sorry to bump this thread up… it’s been 4 years since I posted in this thread wanting this stick, well I finally got one!
I managed to find one on Gumtree (our craigslist equivalent in Australia). Had a bit of rust, but it’s been cleaned out.
I will be looking at putting a Brook UFB in this as I’m personally not liking the moulds of any of the current gen sticks except the VLX :D, so I’l make it a current gen stick with the UFB.
Opened it up, and my goodness, what a PITA to mod compared to the TE, you have to pretty much disassemble the whole stick to get proper access, no big deal though, this is the best stick I’ve used after the VLX - the VLX is just hard to transport around. I’ve been a massive fan of the original TE’s and have two of them modded with the Brook fightboard, but the VS stick takes the cake. This will become my stick that I bring to meets and tournaments.
My question is, does anyone happen to have the “Arcade Fightstick VS Edition” logo that I could use for artwork?
I’ve already got a couple of templates made up using Art’s template, but I really would like the VS Edition logo to finish it off.

Can anyone recommend a good place to install a neutrik in this stick? I got one last week and can’t find a good spot to install it.
Also does anyone know where I can get custom panels made? I want one with a start button near the buttons like a vewlix cab
Prior to the PS4, what many people did was install the USB passthough where the start or select button went. Both the neutrik and the start and select buttons require a 24 mm hole.
This would work out especially if you are positioning the location of the start button.
As for custom panels for the Mad Catz VS, sorry no one offering custom panels at this time.
If you know what you are doing, you can drill a 24mm button hole on your top panel for your start.
You will need a 24mm drill bit that can cut metal (like a hole saw or a step bit) or you can use a punch tool to punch out the right size hole out of the metal plate.
@Darksakul thanks for the input. I think I’ll just install the neutrik where select is and inside the cable compartment I’ll just leave 2 loose buttons in there
Finally got my UFB and installed it in the VS.
Opted to remove the JST ribbon and tried to go for a “clean” install. Doesn’t look too clean on this view

Now I just need to find the VS logo underneath the control panel so I can finalise my artwork to order the plexi from Art.
Anyone have the “Arcade Fightstick VS Edition” artwork? It’s the only thing left I need to make a Ryu TE2+ style artwork.
Also, just want to add, after using this stick for a few days, this has officially become my #2 to use after the VLX. What a great stick. Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get one.
I’m in need getting the connection kit or the dimensions to figure out how to make the cuts to fabricate my own Kit. I got 3 vs sticks , 2 SFvsT & 1japensse silent hit & I think this is a rad stick

You don’t really need a Kit for any of those sticks. Use the Screw terminals to connect your wiring for your buttons and joystick, and if you don’t mind wire splicing use the USB Jack.
