I had a 1/16" black plexi, and while it isn’t flush, it isn’t bad.
Thanks for the input. Is it very noticeable with the plexi not being flush or is it minimal like the picture shown with the 1/32? Thanks.
Well, it’s noticeable if you’re looking for it. I mean, it extends an extra 1/32" of an inch higher than the 1/32". But having dealt with MAS sticks before which actually would become mighty uncomfortable, I can’t say I ever noticed it during play.
Thanks, Just saw a picture of two VS sticks with black plexi panels and they look good. Going to pull the trigger.
Im curious about the bottom panels now…but the felt bottom mod seems more sensible.
I’m going to post it this week, I just got the artwork from my team today but I need to clean it up.
Are the screws on the VS rust free?
^ Yes. They are stainless steel.
Sorry about the artwork delay guys. Soon, promise.
Loutwice have some scratch on your new fightstick V.S.?
unfortunately i have a few scratches on mine…
Seems very clean but will Check carefully.
Got a V.S.? Good on you!
I think it’s one of the best three new joysticks out this year… The other two are the Hori Fighting Edge and the Hori Diamond VLX.
A FightStick V.S. is definitely in my cards for the future when I can afford it. (Don’t know that I’ll buy more than one FightStick V.S.; the tentative plan is to double on the Hori SC V design; don’t know if I’ll get another SC V — whatever SC V-type is cheaper when I look to buy is more likely…) Everything I’ve seen and heard makes it look like it’s probably Mad Catz’s best effort yet!
Any word when the SH edition will be coming out?
^ this
That seems to be only a Japanese exclusive.
yeah it’s Japanese exclusive, BUT Markman might send us the art so we could make it looks like the SH edition .
Well, seeing as the Sanwa silent parts are significantly more expensive than the usual parts… Don’t you think Mad Catz would probably mark up a “silent version” of one of their joystick models unless they want to eat into their profit margins???
$70 for a “silent” Sanwa JLF joystick??? Can’t imagine what “silent buttons” would cost considering we’re already paying 1.5 times regular going price for the transparent Sanwa buttons…
You have to step back and wonder if collecting some of this stuff is getting just a bit nutty. There are price points and import (re: shipping) costs I won’t cross… I really don’t miss paying upwards of an extra $200 for a third-party buyer and shipping to get an exclusive Amazon.jp joystick for a variant paint-job or Seimitsu parts. I’ve sold JLF’s on SRK Trading Outlet plenty of times to help fund Seimitsu replacements and other new hardware as well as dispersing new condition and mildly used Sanwa buttons. There are ways besides skipping meals to be able to afford this hobby. (Not buying lousy games is another method, too.)
(On a related note: I knew some retailer in the States would pick up the Hori Diamond VLX and Arcade Shock did not disappoint… Saved myself $300 waiting for it! I would not have paid $600+ for that controller like some other people here did…)
And I thought $23-$25 for the general Sanwa/Seimitsu joysticks was expensive!
At any rate, there are cheaper alternatives to the Sanwa “silent solution” elsewhere.
(Of course, I’m not married and I don’t live with anyone at the moment so I don’t have to worry about getting yelled at playing late in the morning with joystick controllers…)
same here. i have scratches everywhere as well as a very noticeable one on the front. most of my screws have been overtightened which has led to a few mm of hairline cracks in most of them… not annoying enough to send the thing back though.
So… when did the VS get the slant on the front and back panels?
A lot of pictures on website selling them still have the original box style design with the 90 degree front and back panels. I would much MUCH prefer this version, but I got the slanted one.
The one I got apparently is a lemon too… Doesn’t work when I turn on my xbox, I have to unplug and plug in again, can’t turn on xbox with home button, turns off by itself sometimes, can’t plug in a headset for whatever reason. Bleh.
