It’s not uncommon to have patches that prepare the console or software for release day. This happens on 360 quite often. An example being patches that prepared the 360 for certain peripherals like the Racing Wheel and the Kinect.
You have no idea what those patches are for. No one does. Just wait until March 6th, when the game is officially out. Day 1 online problems aren’t rare either.

Even if the online is bugged day 1, this game is to big for capcom not to fix it in a matter of days.
They’ve put to much time and money into this game to let it bomb so easily.
i agree with combo beast that the game is pretty much unplayable online right now. and yes, there was an update when i first popped the disc in (which is common for most new games).
i just REALLY hope capcom fixes these issues by 3/6, cause it’s otherwise a great game, especially with some of the online features (like the option to team up with someone in an endless lobby)
and that stuff about xbox “not able to handle the game” is nonsense. the only thing that could possibly cause an issue online IMO is that ecstacy-mammoth-chasing-the-hovercraft stage. i could see people picking training stage a lot like they do in SF4.
also, Jin’s instant Eye of Agamattos are annoying

Isnt there a Patch version update log in the game somewhere? so people who had patch DL should have, something like V 1.01, and those who didnt V 1.00.
If you still have the sound bug, then you don’t have the patch that everyone is referencing. No one is saying that you did not download any sort of update. Everyone is trying to communicate to you, through your incomprehensible ignorance, that there is supposed to be a patch that coincides with the street date which will fix certain bugs.
