Street Fighter X (Cross) Tekken/Tekken X (Cross) Street Fighter

Sure they disproved that, but what if the Mayans were really predicting this game. They predict that the world will come to an end in 2012 due to the fanboy rage. Calling it now.

I assume he’s trying to say by 20XX, most of the 2009/2010 members will have already jumped ship for the newest FPS.

The difference in time between 3S and SFIV was? And how about MvC2 and MvC3? And why do Blizzard games take so long to develop?

Damn 2 years wait huh well at least it won’t be a rushed product. We have mvc3 for a while to fall back on and kof xiii is bound to drop soon on ps3/360.

Also I’m guessing if they remove projectiles from the namco version that it’ll go like this
Ryu-fighting style similar too akira from virtua fighter
Fei long-it’s obvious who he’ll play like
Ken-Paul style
Chun li-Kung Fu style
Gen-similar to the old dude(I forgot his name)
Sagat or adon shouldn’t be hard since it’s muay Thai
Gief-wrestling
Dahlsim, guile, honda, vega & barlog it shouldn’t be that hard to introduce them to the tekken engine building them around there fighting styles and getting rid of they projectiles. They’ll just give bison his own style and the psycho crusher can be similar too what the last guy in sciv(or was it cervantes). Bring in ibuki and guy and you have ninjutsu. I’ll wonder if they’ll have super moves though?

Wall bounce is in Super but only for a couple characters, and they all only have like 2 moves to use to juggle past that point, after which the juggle ends. I will bet copious amounts of money they will be drastically different in SFxT to allow for the juggling both the VS. series and Tekken are famous for, giving us massive combos, otherwise it really wouldn’t feel like a VS. game.

Also, I’ll go find the article if necessary, but somebody analyzed the entire video frame for frame and concluded that the game uses chain combos as opposed to links, and I’ll take the word of a person who spent hours analyzing a video over the speculation of a scrub on SRK any day.

Honestly guys, it’s a fucking early build video they made in 2 months of production. The engine was probably just barely modified to create hype, and the final game well almost certainly end up completely different from what we just saw (it could be seen in a few moves that Kazuya was a reskinned SF character with a few extra properties added in). You can’t make ANY assumptions from a build which really isn’t even an alpha at this point.

Stop jumping to conclusions and screaming “OH MY GOD WASTE OF MONEY THEY’RE JUST RESKINNING SSF4!”, it’s too early to have any idea what it looks like, and if you had ANY clue what you were talking about you’d realize from this video that even with a barely modded engine it will play very differently from SF4.

See above.

Do you guys honestly think either of these massive companies would be stupid enough to release a game which plays extremely similarly to their flagship titles? TxSF will almost certainly find some way to incorporate fireballs to change up the gameplay, and SxT will almost certainly play nothing like SF4, probably somewhere in between SF4 and MvC3.

I’m willing to bet in 2012 we’ll see SSF4, Tekken 7, and either TxSF or SFxT in tournaments, but not both.

These are the versus I’ve thought of:

Ryu vs Kazuya
Chun Li? vs Nina
E. Honda vs Ganryu
Sakura / Ibuki vs Ling Xiaoyu
Zangief vs King / Amor King
Vega / Guy vs Raven
Rufus vs Bob
Ken vs Jin ???
Ken vs Paul ???

Soul Calibur plays differently than Tekken though, so I’m thinking Dhalsim might cause problems with the namco game. Teleports in Tekken aren’t as easy to punish as they are in SF either.

I don’t see Dhalsim being in the Namco game purely because of the way he plays. There’s simply no way that would fairly translate into 3D, well, there is a way but he’d be shit tier.

I think all of us are also forgetting that All of the SF characters will need a lot more moves. The smallest amount of moves someone has in T6 is about 70 and that’s Jin. The SF characters would be worked on heavily.

Errant limbs in the Tekken engine are really reaaaally susceptible to counter hits, and if there’s one game you don’t want to get counter hit, it’s Tekken. I’d be more scared that Dhalsim couldn’t compete, rather than dominate

That’s not what the article says at all. It acknowledges the presence of Ryu’s far fierce xx far roundhouse target combo, and several “strings” for Jin, but in no way does it, nor would it be possible to, assume from that that there is a system-wide chaining system in place or that links have been eliminated. You’re just speculating.

all you guys doubting all this stuff about dhalsim in 3-d… i guess its the same thing with people talking about how tekken characters are gonna get zoned out all day in 2-d…

not enough imagination. there’s probably a good reason you aren’t making these games.

i’m not saying stop with your conversation, but if you’re automatically assuming that any character going to another game is gonna be held to the same restrictions or not conform to the system, then you are tripping. if you think that creators aren’t going to worry about balancing out tools then you are nuts.

though, i do have to say, sf4’s trend of adding in shitty console characters to their existing system doesn’t bode well for tekken characters, a good designer would find ways of getting it done.

wow this shits hilarious. a tag fighter between SF and Tekken. Shits SFEX3 meets TTT and none of you realize it.

Sorry to go off topic with this stupid gripe but this is really starting to piss me off now. Why are so many people calling KAZUYA ‘Jin’? is SRK really this ignorant about Tekken!?

People really think they’re going to have a hard time putting dhalsim in tekken’s version? Have any of you played tekken 6?

One word and one number for you…
Jack 6. Seriously.

Jack already has limbs that extend on moves, and even ones that at full charge cause block-stun. These attacks already reminded me of dhalsim in the first place, so I can definitely see how it’d work in TxSF. It really wouldn’t be too hard to balance out, simply make them linear, or have you charge the button(the longer the charge, the further the attack goes). I think he’d actually make an extremely interesting character in the tekken environment… Just watch out for magic 4 from anyone with a distance closing follow-up(bruce or julia, for example).

The character I want to know how they’d manage with is blanka… Clearly lightning would likely be a CH trap(think Yoshi’s Flash), but there’s going to be a fine line between over-powered and pointless on his ball attacks(i.e. too fast and he’ll be broken, too slow and it’ll be useless). Vega might be another tough one to manage. Obviously he’d be able to run up the wall to go for claw-dive/throw but on stages without walls…

It’ll be interesting to see how this all works out. I’m definitely more interested in seeing how namco’s version pans out rather than capcom’s.

i know the difference just a mental slip. on the whole though the answer to your question is probably yes

If Ken and Ryu both had white Gis, I really wouldn’t hold it against someone for confusing the two.

really?!

edit: added “exclamation point” to show more “wtf.”

TBH I’d expect that from someone who barely plays SF but I see your point. Nevermind me though, I’m typing on PS3 and don’t have anything better to do at the moment lol.

I agree. Also another thing that sparks my interest is how they are going to open up the moveset for the street fighters. I’d like to see what they’d get for normal strings, natural combos, and bound moves.
