every newcomer who might be a future evo champ has to start somewhere
capcom wanted to get new people into the game!
and thats not how you do it…as you can see…
ps: since the cfn has issues for many people playing vs against a human online isnt possiible for everyone.
so when you dont have a scene your stuck in trainingsmode.
You’re missing the point, which is regardless of how little you personally care about something doesn’t mean that deriding how much someone else does care isn’t obnoxious.
As an aside, the argument that “you don’t have to buy it yet” is ridiculous for a game that had a pre-order option. This wasn’t well known until what, a week ago? So anyone that pre-ordered before then was supposed to be psychic? This is besides the fact that anyone should be able to go into a store and buy a game off the shelf without having to go to capcom’s website to find out basic features aren’t available out of the gate.
General question: I didn’t know until yesterday that you can’t get FM from single player modes if you aren’t online. Was this info put out there at all or did I just miss it?
no, you guys have apparently spent one year missing the point. SRK isn’t for single player shit, its get you better at fighting games specifically those in the street fighter franchise. This thread belongs in capcom unity not SRK.
You guys are discussing an issue that will get solved when they update the game in a couple of weeks. Until then, what part of this can SRK help you with as a community? Oh right, the multiplayer aspect of it which involves playing with other people. too bad that mode didn’t make it…oh wait, it did.
Seriously, this is an issue to take up with Capcom Unity, not to bitch about here.
so you want to tell people now where they have to post stuff and where not.
when this topic dont interest you, how about you just stay out of it and stick to the ones
where its all about you getting better in the game.
these threads are still there…waiting for you…no, crying for you to be part of it :)…you know the
way…go…
i am pretty sure a moderator will close this thread when he think it doesnt belong to this board.
Personally I only care about the online content so this doesn’t bother me. From a business point of view however if Capcom wanted to get more people into the game the decisions they have made are atrocious.
What bothers me most is the 60 dollar price tag for a game that have to much of a free to play feeling to it. Then again, since iv bought basically every street fighter iteration, the totalt cost will probably be the same in the end. But I dont like that this is the approach most games takes nowadays and how the developers are trying to hide it by saying “you will be able to earn this stuff for free”.
The thing is, that their current model will probably benefit the smallest group possible and its not the hardcore group. This all depends on how much fight money youl be able to earn in higher levels though.
But look at it like this. One character is supposed to cost 100 000 FM. After finishing current single player content you can probably get 200 000 easily. So far so good.
After that you earn FM by daily(?) challenges in the future and online play. Online play earns you 50 FM per win.
Alot of the hardcore players wont play online, because of lag (thats a discussion in itself), rest will earn 50 FM per win. Some may do challenges. But if you play competively you probably want the new characters asap instead of waiting to grind for it (doubt capcom will make it so that youl be able to buy all the new content as soon as its released with FM after Alex, but I might be wrong), and the easiest way is to just buy it with Zenny. Every torunament will also need to have the latest content.
Casual players will probably not do challenges every day for FM and either have to pay for new characters and costume or just not bother with it.
So I think its the people inbetween who play ranked, do challenges and isnt really bothered by having to wait a week or two to get the latest characters that benefits.
I know, alot of assumptions from my part. And even if im correct theres not really anything wrong with it, because as I said, in the end Ill prob pay less than I did for SF IV. But my point is that in the end, because of the free single player stuff coming up, its the people who defend the game most atm who is going to draw the short straw here.
For me, because I dont have as much time to play as I want, the current amount of content is enought to keep me interested until more is released =)
Edit:
Maybe its also that this is the first time im buying a street fighter and I dont feel like im getting the full street fighter experience, that makes me slightly dissapointed.
First SF i got was special champion edition for sega genesis. Which contained both CE and Turbo. Then I got The new challengers and later super turbo for pc. Granted Alpha 1 felt a bit lacking, but I actually got that after Alpha 2 so I knew what I was getting. Alpha 3 for PS1 and Dreamcast was packed with features. Double impact contained 2 SF3 games. Third strike, well it was third strike (best game ever made XD ). SF anniversary contained super turbo, 3s and the sf animated movie. SF IV had all animated intros and endings for each character, training, trial, and more. Super SF iv came with new animated intros and ending plus loads of new characters. So maybe expectations was just set high for V (didnt do any online research beforehand, because I actually wanted to know as little as possible. Heck, its a new street fighter, day one purchase in whateve scenario =) )
