You’re right, my mistake. IIRC they said it had to do with memory limitations or something for MVC1 that is why they didn’t include him and they went the transformation route in MVC1 which I always thought was interesting but weird at the same time. I’m kind of mixed on it.
I’m defensive because you started by insulting me and then basically saying my posts were pointless. In addition you kept flagging me repeatedly without so much as a peep as to why until I had to call you out on it. Almost all of my flags come from the same ~7-9 people you being one of them, sounds like you got a problem with me. If you’re going to flag someone for something that annoys you how about telling them or adding something to the conversation. If you don’t feel it’s a big deal, why flag them at all? Ignore it and move on.
If you want people to not get defensive don’t start by being on the offense.
Akuma and ken are head swaps on the same body. If we are getting 16 characters, we don’t need head swaps, and throwing Ken and Akuma in just cause they are popular staples means you are knocking 2 other characters out. Considering the massive amount of great street fighter characters who aren’t modified clones of Ryu that would be a travesty. Sure if the roster climbs to 50 or whatever throwing them in would be okay.
Sakuras a dumb character. She’s just some random chick who likes ryu and ripped his fighting style off. Then SOMEHOW got good enough to f*ck with the best fighters in the world.
No. That’s dumb.
Her gameplay might be okay but her story is retarded. And I know, a lot of characters have weird stories but here’s it’s just annoying. Like, get off Ryus 2incher.
Well don’t forget she satisfies the ever important japanese schoolgirl fetish. Flower kick anyone? Yup I’m sure a tomboy tough girl, would love flashing her panties. Not to mention she is physically pretty much a female Ryu for those who are into that sort of thing (another fetish?). Gameplay wise she is one of the more creative of shotos, maybe the most since she has the 3 shoto staple specials but they all function completely differently.
I don’t like Sakura as much as you do but literally everyone’s story in Street Fighter is terrible because video games generally aren’t all that good at narratives and fighting games are one of the worst genres for that. Zangief’s story is pretty much him wandering the Earth trying to prove that a 7’3" Russian wrestler is good at fighting, no fucking way Zangief, who’d have thought.
I said generally aren’t that good. There are some really good story games out there but many of those also rely on pre-rendered video and for their storytelling and don’t try to incorporate the actual game into the effort of storytelling. Then there are games like The Crew that are just absolute garbage plot wise and should not have wasted any time on story.
Jeez, don’t you have a “fetish” for pointing out fetishes. /sarcasm
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with Sakura’s design. To me she’s a “better” Ryu, that’s why I like her. “Should she include in the initial release (or later)”, I hope they change her that she’s completely different from her A2 and SFIV form.Plus, for the love of god, give her an older appearance this time.
Dangggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg! Cough just kidding* I mean, it doesn’t even matter, half of the people here hate me or think i’m annoying (shout outs the people who love meh :P) don’t see me asking why, don’t really care, I wouldn’t look too much into the agree, disagree, WTF and so on options if i were you. All those do is remind me of the people who base their self worth on how many likes their pictures are getting on Facebook, or how many followers they have on twitter, you’re cool dude with a Dual core CPU, don’t sweat it so much. Probably a misunderstanding, or him trolling.
Lots of games are great at storytelling. Now FIGHTING games I think I have to agree don’t lend themselves well to a narrative. Even the ones that heavily emphasize narrative like Injustice and Blazblue they still don’t really feel like good stories or particularly good at telling said stories.
However there are tons of good games out there that tell stories in interesting or different ways, even without pre-rendered cut scenes. Spec-Ops the Line comes to mind, as does some RPGs like Wasteland and Fallout 1 and 2 which had very strong stories in addition to telling them well. Fallout 3 had a much weaker story and characters but certainly told a lot of it’s story through gameplay with exploration emphasized. The original Portal was also good at telling an interesting story with character arc and fun back story if you looked for it. The Stanley Parable is a fun game that is practically JUST a story telling device. Papers please is an interesting new take on it. This War of Mine could have been executed better but had a great premise for storytelling.
I’m sure I could keep going and look through my own library of games for tons more examples, but there are games with good story out there that the game itself has the story as part of the game rather than just cut scenes.
That would be interesting if they push Ken that way given they decided to sort of do that in USF4 after fans requested it. He became the faster shoto of the two. Obviously if they include Akuma that’ll be the case since in the majority of games he has been in he is the fastest shoto of all. IIRC he is the same walk speed in Alpha and SF3 as Ryu/Ken but they obviously with SF4 decided to go more with his crossover style of being the fastest shoto and make that basically his standard form, makes sense. Plus in terms of raw mobility he has always been the best thanks to demon flip + dive kick + air fireball giving him more mobility options than Ryu/Ken.
I still kind of hope they speed up Ryu and the movement speeds in general. I’d hate for Ryu’s current speed to be the “average” character speed.
I mean, imagine yourself building/developing something and while your not even finished some random stranger comes along, takes a glimpse, says it’s a piece of crap and just leaves afterwards.
Soo… what do you do now with your project? Someone said it’s trash but you have no idea what part he meant and maybe he even thought you’re finished but you just got started… that kind of criticism serves absolutely no purpose.
But if he stood there and said a certain part is bad because part […] is not really well rounded because of […] then you could take a second look yourself and maybe fix it early.
We’ve repeatedly warned you about this kind of behavior but you just refuse to stop.
How about you sit out for awhile and reflect for a week. If you still want to be part of this community, then you can do so after the week long ban is up.
However, if you refuse to do so even after the ban, then forget about ever posting here again.
This is the most ironic comment in this thread. Trying to show that something is wrong or can be improved by saying absolutely nothing about how it is wrong or could be improved accomplishing nothing in the end. Its my entire original argument in action thanks to the person who is trying to argue against it.
