Interesting how that fight card cites Chun’s mobility as maximum. I’m curious to hear what the “game is too slow” party thinks of that stat when you consider how many felt the demos shown so far (including Chun) showcased a slow game.

I hope I’m not opening a can of worms here, but could Chun be considered a yardstick for (among) the game’s fastest moving characters in it’s current state?

Food for thought.

Anyone else remember the old SF2 fightcards with the short bios and ‘Sure Killing Techniques’? These fightcards are almost a throw back to those.

Never saw those! Cool reading, love all the weird spellings and names for things.

Huh, nifty find, thanks man. Also, I agree, I always thought Chun Li was taller!

Hurricane Punch ranks up there with Sheng Long.

lol shit i used to just read those for entertainment when i ran out of quarters

We already said the same thing a few pages back.

Kuroda brought Oro to SBO finals though.

Nice to read that Capcom won’t be leaving PC owners in the dark concerning the SFV beta

Chun’s hp cancel into v-trigger looks so damn smooth.

You just ended up describing SF2X , lel

SF4 has been around for like, 7 years

I am honestly tired of the whole “Word Warrior” feel

I think they should go for a mixture of fan-favorite SF alpha, SFIII and some returning WW cast , and return Juri,Abel and Viper too

it has been a while since we last saw SFV being played , I wonder if they increased the pace

Hm, I see Capcom UK is doing a world warriors video series on a couple of handful characters

Rose
Rolento
Dudley
Ibuki
Dee Jay
and just recently Bison

What if ? these characters indeed end up on SFV’s roster ? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been wondering that too. The only thing about that theory that confuses me is Dee Jay and Rolento. I don’t see Dee Jay returning for SFV because he is largely unpopular, and Rolento without any final fight heroes sounds strange.

It’s likely for USF4 on PS4.

But I can see Rose, Dudley, and Ibuki in SFV easily.

Same here, the only thing that could explain Dee Jay’s inclusion would be that Capcom could make him a legitimate threat :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

But yeah, highly unlikely , its just that them saying “whats down the road for them ?, We can’t say for sure” at the end of each video is what that ticks me

Wich is like say that Marvel should drop superheroes (and i don’t even like SH comics lol)

The World Tournament thing is SF core
Be loyal to it allow art direction to be more solid and help mix new faces to classic ones. Also give the product clear identity and charisma.
It give a recognizable style to the concept, instead being “random bizzarre peoples that beat the shit out of each other pretending to be part of some ridicolous story”

Problem with FG design in last years imho is exactly that many lose theyr core… see SF3 seen as wierdo festival by many, or Tekken and SC lose theyr once solid chara design in favor of shiny fantasy bullshit.

Again, just my opinion, but no thanks

Change the faces, bring in many new fighters, but keep the core design solid and pure

I don’t get the SF2X thing you and the other smartass said.
Even if my wishlist of returning char get 100% satisfied, SFV will have only 8 characters from
SF2 saga. And this not considering the start (rumor) 16 cast, but including later expansion too

Also lol at the funny old “waaa SF4 is SF2 whore”… SF4 is SF4.
You have there SF2 stuff, SFA stuff, SF3 stuff, New stuff

It respected a lot SF2? Sure, because SF2 cast for average player is still the first thing they associate with SF.
Is iconic, classic and famous. Something that for a reason or another SF3 failed at.

But still SF4 in his last and most complete incarnation included a lot of SF3 characters too, 7 or 8 if you count the tranny (his/her SF4 version is in as Hugo’s manager instead as FF trap hooker)

ps: Fun thing is that my returning char wishlist at this point include more SF3 ones than SF2:
SF2- Ken, Zangief, Cammy, Claw, Sagat
SF3- Alex, Dudley, Urien, Yun, Oro, Q

That’s quite derogatory. Her name is Poison.

Besides that I agree with you.

I don’t have anything against the WW cast, I am fine if some of them like Cammy, Fie Long, Zangief, Sagat return,

Its just that , with SFV supposed to be having a smaller cast , i don’t want all the 12 WW returning again , just plz, no
And I am not even sure if they will expand the game as much as they did with SF4, seeing how much flak capcom were received

And I want Capcom to take a new direction with the new game, just not another “MUH SFII WW FEELS”

SF Alpha did something new IMO, and it was great

That kind of stuff

Thank God you aren’t Ono.

Since that it’s your opinion we can disagree if we want. There’s nothing to understand when we talking about “nostalgia”, even the producers talking about that referred to SF4. What you don’t get it is there exists players pretty tired about seeing the WW around the screen. Some people who quitted SF4 probably don’t get SFV because of the same faces again and again. In SF4 we have ALL the WW roster, the other SF can count on few characters. Why don’t give the others characters a chance to shine? SF4 concept works around the original WW roster, what’s gonna happen if the players get tired about them? Saying SF3 was a failure thanks to the poor look of the characters inside it’s your opinion, then why 3s is still considered the best SF of all time? Not my opinion here, just what experts saying. Obviously some of the WW are in SFV, but not all of them. They work good, they are good, but we have played them for 7 fuckin’ years. I think it’s enough and I’m glad also Capcom HQ think the same. You don’t wanna play a game where your beloved main or antagonist aren’t there? Bye. Real OG players aren’t loyal to a character, some are loyal to a particular game, others to entirely the series, they don’t care if the character X with they win before isn’t in the new version.

People wants a new game, but at the same time they are afraid to change.
