Street Fighter V: Beta Version unofficial Feedback & report thread

In a way i am happy that this beta problems happened. I feel like we have ended up playing the game a lot more than we would have had if it was just the 5 days deal.

i must be completely imagining it then.

that’s true actually. i really like the dashes in this game. do you think there’s any particular reason they’ve decided to make walk speeds so slow?

I think they’re fast enough without looking retarded.
I’m not a big fan of turbo SF-games though, so that’s just my opinion man.

No clue why they do what they’re doing but these kinds of walkspeeds are what Dimps does since SFIV, so they prolly like it.

Yeah dashes are great in this game. I caught multiple people with a quick dash in then a throw.

I was doing Ryu’s dash A LOT to get right into sweep range and just sweeping. I hit that like 5 times a match it seemed. Even if the opponent was crouching, as soon as I dashed in, they reacted by standing and got hit by the sweep.

I think anyone complaining that people other than themselves are enjoying the game are just assholes.

I dont see a reason .Imo because of the mobility lag of no focus attack walkspeed should be way faster than sf4
I guess they want to keep it simple, walk in and out is not very beginner friendly imo
Also with the short throws, i think they are so short to keep it beginner friendly.
Because they are soo short there are only few situation for a tick throw, otherwise you have to walk and thats maybe also a reason why lights not combo into medium or hard.
I think they want you to punish this little walks with lights and with slower walkspeed its easier and throws not get so op because of the not existing crouch techs.

Go into training mode and look at how bad the throw ranges are, you basically have to already be touching them to get the throw. Because of their short range, mashing jab is still a viable tactic since you can’t really throw them out of it unless you’re already super in their face. This plus the weird hit/hurtboxes and bigger push back, make the pressure more stale than it has to be IMO.

And I don’t know if I’m just imagining things, but it feels as if moves in this game are either safe or negative on block. I haven’t seen many moves that after I block them make me go “maybe I shouldn’t press a button, I might pay for it”, unless it was because they did it far enough to where I might be whiff punished. In my experience, jab is still the way to go (even against decent players) since even if you’re not getting rewarded with 200 damage and knockdown ala SF4 (although you still do in this build most of the time), you’re still killing their pressure and creating space.

I can kinda see what @ilitirit was saying now after playing it for a good amount of time. It’s still a solid and fun game don’t get me wrong, but some of the design choices confuse me.

there were a ton of UK players during the previous tests,i dreaded fighting people from Spain.England was not to bad, German was ok.
I had a great match with someone with a Swiss flag.

Birdy to fun I’m really enjoying working on setting up v skill traps on kd, I really don’t like that he can’t cancel into his command grab.

A birdy mirror I lost was due to then knowing when to use his armored ez zonk headbutt and I didn’t realize it was an armored special.

Wish we had programmable dummies, cuz I’m so damn unsure what’s safe in this game and what is not.
I learned that a blocked Ryu sweep at max range is safe though.
Most of the time I didn’t know if something was unsafe or my opponent just dumb.

Oh and regarding @TheFreshPrince I feel that mashing jabs on wake-up is too good.
With this games wake-up options it’s super hard to hit someone meaty. I thought in this kind of game it was a good idea to block on wake-up but apparently mashing jabs works really well.

Ryu has frame data floating around, just look for it.

Don’t click a link of ToolAssisted. Fuck that piece of shit.

How’s the game running over there in the UK guys? Have fun.

not as good as the 2 previous stress tests which is weird because the connections were from further away a lot of the time. maybe more people over here are playing on wifi or something i dunno. lots more disconnections from the server this time too.

that’s exactly what i was talking about but i just got told mashing jab gets you ‘literally nowhere’ in this game lol.

i have played willtupac’s nash too when i was messing with ryu. i nearly got him but i got beat bad in the last round. valmaster destroyed my crappy nash but i’ve barely used him. i wish i’d played them both with bison.

Hmmmmm strange also and ‘Europe’ not UK lol sorry a bit tired lol

For me it was tons better than the previous stress test.

Already made a Japanese account for the Asian test :sunglasses:

I’m gonna feel like a noob for asking this but I couldn’t figure it out during the beta at all today so here goes: How the hell do you quick rise? Like when am I supposed to hit the two buttons? I would just mash the buttons as soon as I got knocked down and I wouldn’t quick rise, which got really frustrating because it caused me to take alot of unnecessary pressure on wakeup.

Just realized the Asian test starts at 12 am here…looks like that was pointless for me to do.

Same as any other game dude, tech your knockdown. Excluding supers which have hard knockdown.

That’s why I play Chun Li so I can get my perfect throw range with kara throw. Fuck the normal throw range. Hopefully other characters get kara throws that are comparable cuz I’m on dat 3S throw range shit compared to these other characters that have to be in Melty Blood range to throw.
