Here’s some frame data: Cammy’s lk cannon spike is 4 frames and invincible for frames 1-5, Ryu’s mp dp is 4 frames and invincible for frames 1-6. Both do 120 damage. Cammy and Ryu both have 3 frame reversals that cost meter and both do 160 damage. Cammy also has a 3 frame cr.lp which is much better range than Ryu 3 frame normal making her a bigger threat to interrupt pressure. If anything her wake up is superior to Ryu’s. The only thing you might consider that Ryu has better is his parry but it loses to throw and is almost as risky as dp is.

Dunno why there’s talk about how some not liking that their character being top tier is a bad attitude to have.

Fighting games are competitive, if you want to feel like you came out on top as a player, that the results you get are because of the hard work you put in and not that your character carried you, If that’s how you feel about it then that’s valid and I respect that.

That’s not to say that you shouldn’t pick top tier or you’re somehow a fraud, there’s a whole other bunch of valid perspectives coming from that direction too. My point is, everyone competes for their own reasons, and everyone gets their motivation to play the best they can in different ways.

Hitboxes out! Anything particularly striking or interesting for your characters?

You did a great job, btw the yellow box in the middle of a character is, in this case, not actually the pushbox as you thought. That is the throw hurtbox. It’s an issue FT is working on and will be fixed in a later version. At the moment pushboxes are not shown, but usually the throw box overlaps the pushbox so it doesn’t matter much. Fang’s command dashes however can pass through opponents and have no pushbox, if you look it retains the yellow box because they are throwable. Purple is specific to poison attacks.

Anyone who thinks Chun Li/Cammy/Birdie are an I Win Button who carries their users are morons.

I said I was using Chun and Mika since October of last year when all the buzz was about Vega, Karin, and Bison. I ain’t dropping Chun just because she’ ended up great. All of her tools have counters. She might be the best but she is very beatable. I am unbothered by the whiners who by in large couldn’t beat my Mika - let alone my Chun.

This isnt mine, I got this off reddit! Quoting the op there “Credit goes to Tom at Frametrapped.com” So major thanks to him.

Hating your character being top tier is retarded, plain and simple. You can tell when someone wins because a character is op, or its skill. Akuma is top tier in every version of Sf4, nobody questions Tokido.

Some people want to be the low tier hero.

In my luck though, half the time the character I end up fluxuating to is low tier by chance. I don’t pick based on tiers but I’d like my character to be good. I was sad when they nerfed Cody in SFxT (even if SOME of the nerfs were deserved I still maintain they went overboard on many). I’m terrible at 3S but Makoto is my gal so there is a top tier placement! In Marvel 2 half my favorite characters were garbage, lol. I loved Hayato, Captain Commando, Jin, Strider, and SonSon. I always picked the wrong side in versus games, I loved the Capcom chars in MvC2 and the SNK chars in CvS2 :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously, any reliable way to block/escape Nash’s v-trigger?

It’s serious folks, Mika needs to react against fireballs properly. Due to her limited range, she can’t do so much to punish random zonners around (specially shotos). I wonder why I can beat strong Birdie’s, Karin’s, Vega’s and Nash’s online meanwhile lose to visibly weak Ryu’s and Ken’s.

It seems she’s unique char in the current roster who can’t punish fireballs (maybe her ex peach might do some damage, but the its range is short).

My concern isn’t losing to people online, it’s the feeling of being limited against fireballs. Unfortunately Mika is a risky char.

Well you pretty much get a big fuck you to projectiles everytime you get Nadeshiko and you get her at least two times a fight.

Charged drop kick eats fireballs too. I’m assuming you can slide under them too. It remains to be seen if there is a legit reason to use her over say Cammy who does still have a solid offensive game while not giving a shit about fireballs.

my bad i didn’t realize cammy had a 3f reversal.

Not just the low tier hero, I think it’s more fun and challenging trying to beat the ones considered the best with one, your favorite character if they are considered mid-low tier, and the actual fun low tier characters.

2nd they can’t be garbage and be your favorite characters. You like them then they are the best.

I can’t say I chose the wrong side in CvS2. Kyo, Iori, Geese are awesome.

Chun has counters? Lol.

Normal flying Peach also goes over fireballs but needs timing.

Ryu doesn’t have a 3f reversal that doesn’t lose meaties by the way

On a side note, people should be smart enough to realize characters don’t do the work for you. There’s too many aspects of a match to just lean on a character and win

EX DP?

Oh. Shit. I dunno. Maybe he does. I don’t know my ex frames off hand.

Yeah characters never do the the work.
But if a character is not fun to play, it’s pointless how good he/she is.
That was one of my points as I said Chun is boring for me, she has nothing I liked about her in SFIV.

Anyways Ryus EX DP has 3f startup.
