This game is about to get really really lame. If taking the throw is even better in s2 then wtf.

Bison’s backthrow is the same according to people at PSX.

It seems like Sim is set to have new changes in SF5 season 2 according to Eventhubs below, he seems to have the most changes of all if this for real. I knew couldn’t have left him in his current garbage state.

Dhalsim

• Crouching Medium Punch has better horizontal hitbox can hit chars further away.

• Stand Heavy Punch is now a crush counter, beware fireball throwers.

• Hitstun on limbs is now plus on hit, so it means you will have to respect his far limbs a lot more.

• Previously, Dhalsim’s far reaching limbs were minus or 0 on hit, so you didn’t have to respect him after being hit, now it’s different.

• Yoga Anvil (Back + Heavy Punch) reduced in startup from 12 frames to 10. No more brainless jumping in.

• Back + Medium Punch went from 8 frame startup to 6 frames now.

• Hearing V-Skill has much faster startup, and float jab has more hit and blockstun so you can’t just hit him out of it.

• Standing Light Kick went from 5 frames to 4 frame startup. Dhalsim can punish easier now with it.

• Standing Heavy Punch feels way faster!

• Slide Trigger buffed, flame doesnt go away anymore.

• Some of his far reaching limbs can be cancelled into super. Far range st.HP crush counter xx Super is a combo.

• Air Heavy Punch is slower.

• Down-Back + Medium kick is a real low which is ideal for midrange foosties.

• People overall seem pretty hyped about how good Dhalsim can be in this version right now.

why would anyone want dhalsim to be good?

Thank Ono for that! That back throw set up was PURE DELICIOUSNESS!

If he ends up being really good they will all learn the scourge of a good sim.

If he’s top tier I might pick him up, game is to boring to play low tier.

That is what I was trying to say… people went crazy over the IALL nerf but didn’t pay attention to her buffs… Chun is still the best on paper without seeing everyone else changes…

However in my mind theory fighting they went further with Bison than I thought they would… I can’t wait for the official patch notes. It bodes will for people with weak V skills as well since they seemed to fundamentally change his.

I almost picked him up when everyone thought he was good (including myself). I dunno, the fact that he fell once makes me think me might again. Right now I’m considering myself a necalli main until I hear more info about cammy and akuma.

My thought process is I’d rather sim than get simmed. I fucking hate playing against him but he’s always been one of my best characters when I put in any time with him.

lol this is pretty much my mindset as well. but it’s less that I hate playing against sim in particular… and more just that I hate being the one who has to take the initiative in any matchup.

on the other hand, playing sim exposes you to the sim mirror, which is utterly cancerous.

I don’t know that the DP change is the right one, but I’m honest-to-god impressed with how willing Capcom is to break with convention.

That is so simple and it changes a lot. A new stat/mechanic for grey life recovery. Characters like Gief, Birdie, Fang, Sim having fast recovery, while Nec, Chun, Cammy, Ken, Mika, etc being on the slow spectrum.

Think it was kinda bullshit how Ryu, Ken, Necalli and Cammy had the threat of super available after committing to reversals. I think it’s a good change, as long as you know how to meaty.

If they put even half of what AngryNord wrote I’d be pretty happy along with the removal of the 8f lag.

Removal of quickrise is a very simple change that would change the neutral in a positive, logical manner.

Karin:

"• Standing Light Kick is +1 on block.

• V-Reversal sends them full screen.

• Has air target combo.

• Jab reset still there, but no longer gets 50/50 mixup."

:bawling: My st.lk X_X Guess they really do hate tick throws @Dime_x haha

And what is that V-reversal change? Like what? lolol

Ryu seems to have been hosed with the DP nerf and some of his normals having slower startup. Ken may be the better shoto for sure now but it doesn’t matter because I’m all in on Akuma

I really hope a lot of these balance changes are offset by new mechanics. Otherwise we’re in for some slow matches

Seems like they showcased Akuma with two different CA so it looks like there’s more on the horizon

that’s an akuma-specific thing… even if we did get multiple CA’s for all characters, it would do absolutely nothing to address the game’s problems.

I’d like to be optimistic but I have a hard time thinking of a new mechanic that would offset the fact that throws kill your pressure now. a problem that fundamental isn’t going to be fixed by whatever shiny bells and whistles they may have in store for us.
