After his CC overhead you can also walk forward and do his target combo, which will give you slightly less than half a bar. Very close to halfway to v trigger off of one CC.

Just curious: what are Guile and Urien’s worst matchups? Don’t know much about the DLC cast. Thanks.

They both lose terribly to Chun

I don’t think Guile loses to Chun. It’s more the other way around.
For Guile, maybe Cammy, she usualy doesn’t give a damn about zoning and once she’s in st.mk range it becomes hard for him to even become a projectile out.

I have an experiment I want to run. Let’s see how many times characters appear in the current top 50 player rankings and objectively tier them. http://rank.shoryuken.com/rankings/rank/SF5

Spoiler

Ryu: 3
Chun: 9
Nash: 6
Bison:
Cammy: 4
Birdie:
Ken: 6
Necalli: 6
Vega: 2
Mika: 2
Rashid:
Karin: 3
Laura: 1
Zangief: 2
Dhalsim: 3
FANG: 1
-DLC characters, not tiered below due to having a shorter playable time-
Alex: 1
Guile: 1
Ibuki:
Balrog:
Juri:
Urien:

A+ (Over 6): Chun-Li
A (6): Nash, Ken, Necalli
B+ (3-5): Ryu, Cammy, Karin, Dhalsim
B (1-2): Vega, Mika, Laura, Zangief, FANG
C (0 picks, could be unviable or just underplayed): Bison, Birdie, Rashid

Thus, by tournament pick rate, Chun/Nash/Ken/Necalli are top 4 with a handful of characters below them. Ignoring DLC characters for now as they haven’t had as much time to develop and aren’t well-understood by the community yet.

Who does Balrog struggle against? I thought to myself maybe Chun but I haven’t had any issues with her just yet. Balrog can anti-air IALL on reaction with his cr.mp as well, only issue I have is pinning her down because his 3f trap options suck as-per all of the DLC cast.

General consensus is grapplers like Laura give him trouble. I think @Windalfr was saying the matchup vs Chun was at least even for Rog.

Wait, What ?

I thought that Guile at-least gives her trouble. Are you speaking to us from the past or the future ?

I have MUCH easier time destroying him with Mika over Chun. I think Mika beats him pretty badly, if Laura is bad then Mika is probably hell.

Im speaking in sarcasm

It is hard to notice when Cute Ibuki is holding like 5 Kunais and looks intent on throwing them at me. You got all sorts of mixed messaging going on here. I find it cute that @JoeyTones is agreeing though.

I though you had my back Joey, We Chunners must stick together.

Grapplers.

Here’s PR Rog’s matchup chart from early last month: https://t.co/ND08vIbFpw

Hah. Every grappler other than Alex has has advantage over him. Being on your back with no invincibility sucks agsinst grapplers.

I thought Nash and Guile were unfavorable MUs for Chun?

@“DevilJin 01” See, you even got @OceanMachine confused.

Mixed messaging dude.

I play Ibuki so I have to keep my mix ups varied.

Whoops, I skipped his last reply. I thought he might be sarcastic but I wasn’t sure.
Does this mean Urien is actually a bad MU for Chun? This might be interesting.

Bad MU? I can’t see that personally. Urien still has trouble with iall and in this forum having trouble with iall means it’s a bad matchup.

I haven’t lost to any chuns yet with him, but I don’t get to play much either.

Real talk, though. Why the fuck does Alex level three V-Trigger into EX command grab deal almost no damage if it guard breaks? I mean, shouldn’t he be rewarded for hitting someone with a move that slow and spending a bar on top of it? A regular trigger lariat I can understand, because he has parry shenanigans and whatnot for all kinds of crazy set-ups, but when blocking a fully charged one I should eat shit because I let him just stand there and charge his fucking Galactica Phantom.

Seriously, aside from the weird quality of life stuff that was in IV but somehow still isn’t in the game, the thing I want most in an update is revised V-Skills/Reversals/Triggers. FANG’s are ass, Bison gets weird debuffs and a really harsh depletion rate, Alex feels like he should get more for how hard his are to use properly, Vega gets the worst V-Reversal in the game despite his super not even being a proper reversal, and meanwhile Chun/Ryu/Cammy turn god tier for two bars.

Unblockable setups, so if any are found, they don’t do to much damage. Think like ryus charged hadoken, only Alex’s parries as well so timed right you might not be able to reversal out with the correct setup.

@amrraed

I was agreeing in sarcasm. I know the importance of Chun downplay on the road to season 2.
