Glad to have found this forum. I’m going to be visiting Beijing to see my brother. He’s an artist there. Anyway, I’m planning to visit some of the arcades mentioned here. I’m hoping to play some SF4 as well as some 3S (finally). I came from Vancouver, but am based in Philippines now.
Anyway, just wondering if you guys know if the Marvel vs Capcom 3 strategy guide is sold in any of the stores there. I’d like to read this on the flight back with my gf. We started playing Marvel 3 and she’s in love with how fun it is.
I might be completely mistaken about this, but as far as I know, western language strategy guides are hard to find - I haven’t seen any copies on taobao (China’s eBay equivalent), even! Which is irritating, since flicking through it on Saturday made me wish I’d asked Starcade to pick me one up! Your best bets are probably the electronics malls around Zhongguancun ??? subway station, and the collection of games stores around Drum Tower.
Similarly, I haven’t heard of or seen any 3S cabs in the city… seems like it was all HF and KoF until SF4 hit.
Correct me if I’m wrong, the rest of yous.

after 6 hours of watchins beginner tutorial on mVC3 ,im thinking i should quit SSF4 and start MVC3,damn ,the game is so fun ,i didnt realise when we were playing at yanis place. @shmoke
its true sadly this damn country has only 1 3 strike versus cab in chuanjing and stick not that great,i was even considering buying one because honestly there is a lack in cabs for 3s…

I haven’t been on WoW much myself really. I did a few quests on Mecanspell on Monday and that was it. This and next week are crazy at work due to new intern orientation and stuff. I’m running around all over Beijing!

I might be retarded or something but I can’t figure out how to otg with an assist after an air combo. It comes out so slow. Or maybe it doesn’t work that way and I got it all wrong?
Assist OTGs are rather strict timing wise coming from an air combo assuming its the assist that otgs them. Some chars (wesker) can otg for the assist and get the combo that way which is 10x easier. Otherwise I just double tap until the assist comes out and continue the combo after that at like a 20% success rate. remember not all assists otg although most chars have one that does.
P.S anyone wanna play today? nothing comes off of jet lag like mashing shit tons of buttons.
Here’s what I’m trying to do: Air combo with Chun, slam to the ground, Dante OTG assist and go for legs Hyper. I’m actually thinking it’s Dante’s assist that won’t work that way at all.
Got jogging to do tonight so I won’t be joining casuals. Gotta practice a bit more too before I play matches again so I don’t get so badly beasted out like last time. haha
Ok, I knew this but for whatever reason I forgot. I blame the severe mental retardation. Air combos -> assist are easier to pull with if you delay the air combo itself heavily. As a side note this makes air combos that require 2 assist OTGS more or less impossible due to hit stun degrade. Chuns have huge hitboxes so its pretty easy to delay the moves, the important one to delay being S, but you can get M pretty late before they air reel. Here’s what I got for you: Dantes OTG is crystal which is decent-ish. I was able to get it to go with Chun 123 S delayed 2 3 S in the air. Call assist 3 Legs super jump 123. That’s 450k. Thing is 12c.3 j. 2 LLs air 3 LLs legs super super jump 123 is 380k. 70k isn’t worth losing Jam Session over in my mind, and I know you can do more than that I was just screwing around for 10 minutes.
