Saw that somewhere else on the net a couple of days ago.
What’s up fellas? My copy of BlazBlue CS arrived yesterday. Didn’t manage to play with it a lot. Almost gave myself carpal tunnel trying to do Tsubaki’s first challenge combo. The game looks a lot more vibrant and colorful than CT. Loving the tutorial system and challenge modes. Just gotta work on my chain combos cause I’ve gotten rusty. Starcade, I’ll be ordering your copy today or tomorrow. Anyone else who wants one, drop me a line. I can get the HK version dirt cheap and super fast.
Cheers
Edit: By the way, call me a genius cause I found a way to read and write Chinese on my cell phone. Woot?
This WAS going to be part of a ten part video series convincing Rob not to quit Tekken, but this one took up 200 megs and my card didn’t save anything else
Oh SNAP I’m famous. Everyone line up, left for autographs, seeeexy ladies also on the left but for a *different *kind of autograph. The ballpoint kind.
I wasn’t planning on quitting tekken, that would go against my standing goal of being mediocre at every fighting game in existence. Since you left I’m now china’s best at last blade AND jojo’s putting me way ahead of the curve. Also there was a 8000 RMB tourney in ???, but that factored in less.
So hows the states treating you? And where’s that MSN drop??
So yeah mentioned my time when I’ll be down(Aug.31-Sept.14) if anyone wants to hang out for a bit on the weekend(or weekday). I’ll be staying at the Happy Dragon Inn during that time. About to look up locations at what not.
Name is Mike btw, hopefully I’ll get to meet some of you guys. Cool that there’s a JoJo’s player. Keep telling myself I’ll get good it, but it’s not in my genes to be good at fighters.
I don’t know if its technically correct to say any of us “played” Jojo’s…
Dude 8000 yen for what? The Tekken regionals about the time I left had money this time round but it was invitational only (I heard) Theres also some SF thing (that may or may not have passed) Nothing matters since I left, the only thing matters is the hard training I’m doing now (100 haha steps a day! 100 crouchdashes a day! My Baek/Eddy will be unstoppable when I return)
Click the butterfly icon under the avvie for my MSN, be sure to pass it on to Jared so he can give me training tips on this mess of a game.
Hey, just moved to Beijing the other day, thought I’d poke my head up here. I’ll be around for a year or so, though I’m staying in hostels for now. Is the Xidan arcade the one most of yous lot frequent, or should I be heading somewhere else? Dropped by the Wangfujing Taito arcade last night, wasn’t exactly blown away.
Welcome to Beijing. Xidan and Xizhimen arcades are where Tekken goes down usually. For our SF fix we frequent the arcade in Shuangjing. Ever since Super dropped, though, we’ve been doing casuals in houses. I do a lot of hosting so I’ll drop you a PM with my number and u can text me.
Indeed. Sadly, most of us haven’t been arcade rats since Super dropped. Shuang Jing is really the place to go for comp, but the cabs there have been in disrepair lately.
Those asking about the tourney:
It’s at ??? (xin guang tian di) in Chao yang tomorrow. Those who didn’t qualify can’t participate, though you’re welcome to come cheer me on. It starts between 1 and 2. Mike texted me that if you take the subway, get off at ??? (xi da wang lu). I don’t get off work until 12:30, so I’m just getting in a cab right after work.
GG on Saturday Starcade! Don’t let it bring you down.
I’ve been thinking about that little discussion we had regarding the possibility of having our own local tournaments. I think it’s a great idea and I don’t want it to just stay in words. We used to do that a lot in Greece and it was a lot of fun, plus it gave us more of an incentive to train and get together for games. Also this could help us connect even more with the Chinese players. We could have all entrants put in a fixed amount of money and the winner takes all in the end. Or a percentage goes to beer and grub. I’m thinking that space could be an issue, though personally I could easily host an 8-man tourney (will have to clear it with the misses as well before I make any full-blown guarantees). I wouldn’t mind even bringing my PS3 to someone else’s place.
Long term life lesson: Stay away from street food all together.
Seriously, every morning there are food sellers around our subway station and they touch the food with their dirty hands without gloves. The amount of oil and grease I see being used by these people makes me gag.
I’ve been living off the street food for a month now! I’ve always found that it’s the mid-range stuff that’s often dodgy - places locals don’t go, that price up to rip off foreigners, but not so high as to actually have to back that up with quality cooking. Top and bottom price range stuff is usually fairly fine. Just… make sure you see a few locals eat at a street stall before trying it yourself.
I guess the drunken noodles could be a risk regardless, though.
