Due to work, I’m only available during the weekends usually. Dear lord, your avatar is going to give me nightmares tonight.
Too bad I’m gonna miss out on the tourney. sad panda Make lots of noise for me too! Also, I’m hosting casuals as always this Saturday fellas. Same place and more than likely same time.
I’ve been in Beijing (studying Chinese at Beida) for a week now and will be here for another 5 weeks, and I want to start going to arcades every now and then. I just went to Xidan today (Joy City shopping center I think) but I didn’t see an arcade there. Guilty Gear is my main game, and I dabble in a bit of BlazBlue too, how good are the people here in those games (not that I’m very good myself) and where would be the best arcade for that? I can play SF games for fun too (though I’m pretty bad at all of them since I’ve never practiced, particularly 3S). And I’ve always wanted to learn how to play KOF but never got around to it, is a game like that feasible to learn quickly at the arcade?
If you’re just learning, the arcade in 77th street at xidan is the best place to start. The level of comp there is lower. You ought to come by for casuals sometime!
Also, tourney at a gamestore this weekend (the 17th). I’ll post info soon.
Welcome! I was at Bei da this past two semesters Are you on campus?
BB, go to Xi dan 77th street (77? ??), the arcade is on B1. The new BB is there, it replaced the VF Seems to be a good number of players.
GG, I think its pretty dead here…
KOF… well, you’re in the best place to learn KOF is definetly not easy to pick up, but players here are really skilled (most players have been playing for over ten years now, I disagree with Starcade here, the KOF level is probably higher at Xi dan then most places I’ve been too) and very friendly, just ask for tips and people will be happy to run you through the basics. I barely played KOF but everytime I played I ended up meeting new friends and stepping my game up a lot. If theres any tips, let me know and I’ll try my best to help you. There isn’t rearlly a KOF “community” per se, but there is a ton of info, since you know Chinese, just look up KOF (??) on bai du, you’ll find tons of info on the ?? forums (much more then on any English site I ever saw.)
SF, well just talk to these guys about that.
Also Jason, I dropped off the books at a friends, thanks again for the offer though.
I’m pretty sure Rod got arrested and won’t ever come back
He shall be severely punished if that is the case.
I’ll be going back to Greece on Thursday, gents. Sadly, I got no time for some quick casuals due to work and quality time with the misses. I’ll be back next Friday. Make lot’s of noise at the tourney! I’ll be checking in for news on that.
lol, sorry for the radio silence gents, its been a bit hectic here; a bunch of suspiciously timed birthdays and the surprise return of my brother have delayed my return somewhat…I’m plotting to be back ~ the 22nd +/- a few days. I’l definitely give you guys a headsup when I hammer out the date completely - I’m not gonna miss you am I Carmen? When’re you leaving?
If you mean 22 July then yea we still have time The xizhimen crew is supposedly throwing a small farewell tournament for me (which I guess means seeing who can actually lose to me ) so you be on that man. Also if they ever stop being lazy and post those videos, you can see how “well” David and I did at the big tourney.
Weekends are cool. During the week I’m gonna be studying in the morning and mill about my surroundings during the day, and not get in trouble during the night.
Anyone else down to kick it on the weekends? Hopefully I can trow down a little in KOF XIII since we should be getting it this week in Seattle.
