Was nice seeing Hugo and Poison! The Final Fight back up that made Haggar a lot like Arnold Schwarzenegger AKA the Governater was priceless. There were Slam Masters in the background too when he was shown fighting Zangief. Fun issue!
Speaking of Final Fight, this article appeared in the last issue -
If*** you want to see a full-on series featuring Cody, Guy, Haggar, Poison, Sodom, Rolento and the rest of the Final Fight gang then let UDON know!
To be honest this is starting look more like Alpha 3 than SFII in the comic. It just irks me a bit, but i like the set up in the end of this issue. So i’ll concede.
before reading this issue i had no idea that Hugo was from final fight… it’s fun to learn… also any comic by udon has my go ahead… just cuase they are all atheistically pleasing to the eyes
I think this was the best SF comic in a while a lot better than the sf4 comic. the art was amazing as always , the only thing is that i want more after reading every issue .hehe i think the story progresses a bit slow , but i guess taking it one qualifyer at a time is an ok idea
we allready know who is going to qualify dont we ? (all SF2 and new challenger charachters .) even tho Sakura was a surprise i doubt shes gonna have an impact on the actual tournament
I’m not getting it. SF Alpha characters that didn’t appear in the Alpha arc getting spotlights now, in Turbo? And Sakura won? She’s going to be a part of Turbo?
I remember a lot of people complaining about characters like Cammy being way over-used. Not only Cammy remains on the spotlight waaaay too much, but we have all this stuff with the SF2 characters being sidelined for Alpha and even Final Fight characters.
Why did Ken bring Eliza to such a dangerous location? Putting his pregnant fiance in harms way doesn’t fit Ken at all. You’d think he learned his lesson after their wedding party debacle.
And what is Birdie doing there? How did he get invited when he does nothing but get his @$$ kicked all the time?
And Sakura coming out of no where to qualify in the tourney by beating Dan? I’d much rather like to have seen how far Dan would’ve gone, or at least see him attempt to fight someone other than Sakura. We’ve seen those two go at it at least three times now.
Honda causing the ring to buckle under his weight was neat though.
Hmm. My interpretation of the issue was that Sakura bowed out of the important registration stuff so she could take Dan to the hospital, making it so she’s not in the tourney. When she told Honda and Zangief to go on ahead without her, that may have been an indication of that.
Can’t be sure really until future issues, but the earlier image of the SF2 gang on the final Thailand stage of the game did not feature Sakura. So even if she does get in then chances are she won’t get very far.
Oh yeah, for sure, her apologetic response to Honda and Zangief clearly indicates her relinquishing from the tournament to take care of Dan.
I just found it somewhat repetitive and uninteresting to have her simply appear, having not seen her for many issues, and just be accepted by Vega no questions asked.
Not that there’s really a purpose for clarity since future issues will take care of what the situation is. With just a little hindsight, you know that Sakura - in the game - isn’t in the tourney, so if they want to give her an out or provide readers with an out they just did. They can go the other way and put her in the tourney. Ongoing stories don’t need to spell everything out for you all at once because they have however many issues to do so.
Didn’t Cammy beat T. Hawk? How come he is still in? Did I miss something? Oh and yeah, it would have been more interesting to see how much Dan could have progressed in the tournament. Seeing as how Dan could hold his own against quite a few of the characters in SF4, I think it’s time to actually have him beat at least some… punks maybe? I bet his father is crying over raising such a bad son and student now =(
That Cammy fight happens later, during the tourney. The tourney hasn’t started yet. What we are seeing now is the process that will determine who will compete in the SF2 tourney. Qualification matches.
