Is there any documented relationship between Bison and Akuma?

I mean everyone is so hung up on this akuma kills bison stuff, but honesty there is no direct evidence of anything other than a possible encounter in Alpha 3, where Bison dismisses the Dark Hadou as weak in comparison to the psycho power.

But in terms of the relevant games - the street fighter 2 series - their is only the implication of the ancient one in bison’s ending, a person who may or may not be akuma.

All im saying is that the explanation that akuma killed bison is unsatisfactory because there is no established motive or basis in the games for doing so. The fact that he randomly jumped in and killed him is pretty anti-climactic and ill thought out unless there is some sort of underlying relationship or rivalry between the two. Does anyone have any knowledge of a substantial connection?

Well akuma doesn’t really go out and randomly kill people from what I recall. Every murder he caused there was always some sort of explanation for it. There’s practically nothing linking Akuma to Bison rather than a manga that capcom wouldn’t consider canon in the first place.

Well I believe that Akuma/Gouki did not really kill Bison/Vega since Capcom in CFJ had some ending where it shows Gill in Vega’s ending. I know CFJ isn’t really canon but why do that ending and also why redraw him to make him like the Super Turbo version where he throws off his cape and all. I bet Capcom had Dictator planned for SF4 before they sold the rights to Capcom USA…so now we’re never going to see SF4 ever!!!

LOL CFJ isn’t canon for very obvious reasons. That ending also had Sagat still working for him and all 12 dolls still under his command. :looney:

As nice as I can put this… does Studio Udon who did those endings know how to draw Vega(cape) any other way? Course I’m sure HD ST will shut me up quick but I haven’t seen his skinny variant show up in comics yet lol!

Capcom said Gouki killed him in SF2 so Gouki killed him in SF2. That’s kind of it really…

There was a manga (RYU, Sutorto Fait? Ts? Ry?, I think thats it…) that featured gouken getting beaten by a young bison because he couldn’t find the “powerful one” (akuma) or something (someone stated it earlier in the thread) and it was a sanctioned manga by capcom. (or so i’ve heard)

That’s the same one that Udon’s re-translating & re-releasing. There’s no Gouki referenced in that one (not even any of the new challengers are in that manga, it’s that old), and Gouken doesn’t just get beaten by Vega in it, he dies and Ryu’s enraged.

Also I said this on page 1 here, but:

Officially sanctioned doesn’t necessarily mean canon. There were many commercialized manga and plenty of fan-made doujinshi about the SF universe, but only a handful can take credit for certain elements becoming canon, and as far as I know only one is completely official because its story was written directly by Capcom.

Capcom Japan holds the manga SF2 Ryu in high regard because it introduced two things to later become canon: Gouken and his design, and the Shadoloo drug doll.

I read on fighters generation a few months ago that Alex fought gill and while he put up a fight he lost and gill decided to challenge the world warrior himself Ryu so wouldn’t that make Ryu the winner of sf2. Also in Ryu’s ending he never showed up to claim his title and bison and Sagat were at the booth waiting but Ryu was els where uppercutting a mountain so he probably defeated everyone but left because he was looking for the next challenge.

Ryu’s ending in SF2 isn’t anymore valid than anyone else’s. As I’m sure was said many times in this thread, the winner of that tournie is uncertain, likely Guile or Chun though.
