I think the issue was paced gracefully and brillantly. As a stand alone issue it stands on it own two feet. Ryu and Gen sparring was great! It was cool to see Gen not telling Ryu what he wanted to hear, leaving Ryu confused but respectful of Gen’s teaching Gen’s death was done very tastefully. Leaving it open to the reader was a stroke of genius.
The way I see it, Is Gen was hit with the Raging Demon and at that moment Gen and Akuma both knew that it was all over for Gen. Gen then decides to spend his last moment alone. In my eyes Gen got the Death match as he wished for.
Well done guys. Looking forward to the next issue.
P.S: No more Delta Red backups for me please. I’ve seen enough of them for my liking. And a Great Street Fighter Mini!
Erik-Iwanted to ask you two things is there a way I can pay are recieve the scroll of alll the charecters the #1 issue with allchartecters-3s and the other poster where there standing in the alley w/all the charecters
Its completey foward but I really want them and like I said its open also the comic shop I go to only get about 3 copies whose fault is it and is there anything possible you can do about it these are just questions and I would appricate some input thanx and I love the comic
Good issue… but I’m going to bring up something that’s been bugging me, but most people seem to love.
I think the fight scenes resemble the game too much… Ryu’s crouching punch in this issue was just ridiculous, and there seems to be too much sweeping in the fights. Also small things like the first kick Ryu throws at Gen…I assume it’s a jumping front kick? Well, Ryu’s toes are pointed forward. That’s a great way to break your toes. I may be nitpicking but it does detract from the comic to some people. I really don’t think it would hurt to show more variety in the fighting. Ryu has more up his sleeve than what he can do in the games. He should have headbutted Gen or someone in the future (shows he did learn from Dhalsim), things like that.
Otherwise keep up the good job!
After missing out on the first issues (yeah, shame on me!) I managed to get my claws on issue 4:lovin:
The art was great (but ofc Alvin never dissappoints me). the story-line is pacing along nicely as far as I can tell.
Master Gen no more… I loved his role in the comic so far, ah hell I admit I like the character a lot more than before Udon’s comic, at he least he went out the way he wanted too.
Can’t wait for issue 5, keep up the good work Udon!
Gen had to die. The 'dying aged assassin" was part of his character. I hate it when an elderly character just seems to live forever just because he’s popular.
Take Grandpa from Rugrats/All Growned Up. The way I see Gen’s death is that it was a ripple effect of the Shun-Goku-Satsu. He was still strong enough to survive it in battle but it lasting effects that his body just couldn’t handle.
And CocoJ - you think this comic is too much like the game? You should play Rival Schools then read the comic. The comic is terrible for making itself look like a game rather than a comic.
Thanks. The game pro and other mags drove me crazy not having them at first!
If you are going to do this type of thing I don’t mind, just a little bit of warning in the pages of the SF book so I know about it :wgrin:
If you wanna nitpick, do it about shit that’s actually wrong, not personal preference. How about the fact that Gen’s Zanei is done with an open-handed claw strike, not a crane beak fist? Anybody catch that mistake?
Ryu’s kick was wrong and I’m going to go and say the crouching punch was wrong too. I understand the comic is portraying a world different to ours, but it was still beyond stupid.
