Anyway, what page can I find info on why Screw Attack hated EX3 so much?
I don’t have any Japanese EX3 matches. I don’t think it ever really took off there since it was console only and they were probably focusing on 3s and CvS2 at the time. For other sources, I don’t really have anything else. I generally post anything that I find from Brazil or Peru on here. Though I haven’t checked chanwa’s in a while so I don’t know if he got good at that game yet.
@OrochiDemon that tier list was from someone that never really played the game much outside of Bison/Dic. So I wouldn’t take that list too seriously. Hokuto like most of the cast is around middle tier. Several of her moves are fairly safe on block, can be a decent combo starter, ender, juggler and super bar builder.
For why Screw Attack hated Ex3, I don’t know. I saw their video a long time ago and felt that they never really played it, and just regurgitated common complaints about the game from people that never played it. Really did nothing for me except made me question everything that they do a video on and avoid them whenever possible.
Looks like their only reasons was that it was in “3d”.

I just recently got the sfex2p for my pc (with an emu). I’m really new to this series. Been having trouble setting up zinc emu though.
unless your computer is old you might want to try mame instead. But if you want to use zinc. Bare in mind that its commandline driven EMU, so you could need a Frontend or Graphical User Interface program like ZincFE or ZincGui if you want to start it by clicking on the emu, though in this case you’d click on the FE/Gui program. SFEX2P is a timer based game in regards to secret characters so you might also want to look up “zinc trainer” which will help you unlock those secret characters without having to leave zinc running for a few months uninterrupted. Lastly make sure you have the ZN2 bios file.
Why is Nanase so low in the SFEX3 tier list? The shit she can do in SFEX2+ with her juggling supers takes away lots of damage. I also feel her fundamentals are good enough to be at least mid. I know it’s 3 and not 2+ but she must’ve retained her previous capabilities.
Also, why does Hokuto have such limited combo abilities? I don’t like the way they designed her. She’s basically a prototype Karin who can’t combo into any kick specials and only has one counter. I feel like her combo ability (without Excel) is lacking tbh. I played as her recently on SFEX2+ for mame and it was hard enough to combo her cr. mp into rekka. Too small of a time frame to cancel for just a special move or maybe I’m overlooking something. I only used her once so maybe I need some more experience but geez…
From what I’ve experimented her juggling, it doesn’t work as well in EX3. Closest that I got was http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=arfiKQIZ_JE#t=294 Though AFAIK those juggles only work the best on heavy characters which aren’t played often. Like Dhalsim’s yoga blast juggles. Also bare in mind that the person who made that tier list never really played as her. Meanwhile the brazil tier list has her mid to top because they use her a lot.
Hokuto can combo into her kick special, but it requires a light kick momentary from a rekka. Anything higher and it takes too long to travel back and then forward to hit to combo. For comboing into the rekka, you’re problem is likely that the start up on mp is too long and your negative edging it. You need to use the lp version as it has the shortest startup. So you can cross up with mk, c.mp, c.mp, lp.rekka, lk.momentary and then have an option of super canceling, tagging, critical parade or lp.momentary. She gets more juggling possibilities if you activate b.hokuto like the launcher from EX2 and the palm push which adds mad super meter.
