Dont know if Kyosuke has revisited his list, but is flat wrong overall. Ace low? Sagat and Bison so high? Ryu so low? Kairi, E. Ryu and Vulcano not flat out dominating the game?
Also (IMO) a high mid tier should exist: Shadow, Guile and Bison should be high mid, not top, and Chun and Hokuto should be high mid, not just mid. I also would bump Nanase to mid, leaving only Claw and Sak in the low tier.
Kyosuke played a lot of Sagat, Both lists I believe were influenced heavily on what the group of friends played as. Which makes sense, even if they dabble with other characters they arenāt going to be able to use all the characters equally as well. Which will show up in their matches. Without a large group of players learning all of the characters there will be unutilized potiental. Just think back to when JWong had said that Adon isnāt a good character in SSF4. Its pretty much the same thing.
That said, tiers in SFEX3 are so close anyway that you could beat anyone with anyone.
What makes Kairi, E. Ryu, and Russo the best?

@ShinjiGohan : I saw a lot of his matches. They KNOW how to play, and can link a lot of shit / do a lot of cool stuffā¦ but they dont turtle, defend or run the clock that well, and YOU KNOW, YOU have to know how to do these in EX3.
Sagat main strength (his low jump HK), dies to every cr.mp in the game, his TU have the tendency to just PASS tru the opponent (due to having lots of horizontal range) and he is the tallest (and one of the fattest) characters in the game, meaning that he is susceptible to LOOOOTS of shit (ambiguous crossups, Area/Vulcano setups, Kairi shit, Garuda shit, etc). Notheless, heĀ“s a good character, having great supers and great chemistry as an opener and ender.
@Lord_Raptor : E.Ryu does everything Ryu does (and believe me, Ryu is one of the most dangerous characters in the game), plus has better momentaries,better team sinergy and more supers. HeĀ“s a souped up version of one the best characters in the game, he can do everything (playing alone, getting tagged in, tagging out, rushing, comboing, defending, turtling, building meter, zoning) good with no weakness and can HURT a lot in the process.
Kairi is Viper on crack. He has crazy insane mobility. Its HARD to lock down. Has a momentary from his DP (allowing him to have defensive FADC for free), and great supers. Thank god they arent that damaging, but he can play every playstyle good enough, and when he decides to atack/rush or defend is really hard to stop him or get in. He gets to dictate most of the matches that heĀ“s in, and its really dangerous to stick something in his patterns (that build a lot of meter) because his great fakes / counterhit options, and coupled with a good damaging partner (AKA Garuda) the match can be over really fast if you guess wrong once.
Vulcano is the one that makes me LAUGH the most. His antiair defense isnt that good, and his supers and pokes are good, above decent. What makes him insane is his kick momentary (the teleport move). The move alone gives him tracking abilities (after flying / changing screens), and basic mixups, but when used as a momentary is when he gets INSANE. He can lock everyone in the cast for free/almost free, can decide on where he leaves the gaps and for what purpose (counterhitting, letting you reversal into kill you plus the next /following ), has an overhead, can throw, cross you up, combo if you get hit (into super, or in Rekkas )into repeat all his shit again. JUST FOR BLOCKING OR GETTING HIT once. The only thing that can get close to Vulcano shit IMO is Garuda CP.
Also these top three have GREAT GREAT walking speeds (really important in exā¦) and great air mobility / jump angles. (Sagat in the other hand is a tad slowā¦ yeah, i use him, thats why i know his weakness)- but dont worry, gameĀ“s really fun, semi balanced and diverse when you know how to partner characters.
People can have differing opinions on tier lists and they can change with what you have around.
I donāt agree with the tier list for ex2+ that is floating around.
if you dont believe the tierlist then you should watch the ex2 tournament video that was posted on Game Acho youtube page because the same characters show up over and over

And what are some YT channels good for any EX matches, primarily 3. Itās the one I know the least about seeing hwo I kept skipping over it.

it was based solely on acho play. So if a character wasnāt played often then they get a low score. You can compare that to the casuals that I recorded at UFGT8 for EX2+ where 1 player only played as Darun. So if a tier list was made based on that then Darun would end up being considered top tier.

Peoples preferences comes through when making tier lists. Since EX was never that popular the players have tunnel vision.

Top - Sim, Volcano Rosso, Ken, Nanase
Upper Mid - Guile, Bison, Claw, Zangief, Darun, Area, Garuda, Shadow Giest
Mid - D.Dark, Sharon, Ryu, C.Jack, Chun Li, Sagat
Mid Low - Kairi, Hokuto

Top 4 are really the good in different ways.
Sim can hit comfirm into his drill super(LK version) with just J.MK which also puts them in a juggle state which could be used for an extra heavy attack to. The thing about J.MK you have to be at the very max range for that to not hit. His LK yoga blast is faster than most of his normals so itās good way to gain meter if you knock them down from far. Not to mention top 3 was almost all Sim at the capcom olympic round robin this year.
Rosso does what he does mix up and rush down. If you played him in ex3 you know the deal, except he has the option to do CCs as welll.
Ken the combo king in this game plus he has decent damage with it if your going to do a hundred percent(200 damage) combo in this game heāll probably be the on you do it with first.
Nanase the worst out of top 4 great damage but her combos take a bit to set up as theyāre juggles with her supers.
Why is Ace thought to be top by some?
Ace its and EDITABLE character. You can make some SERIOUS broken shit combining moves from other characters, and he also has moves from characters of the previous ex games not present on ex3. Shinji wrote some stuff about him some time ago, iirc, he had some easy unblockables and 100% combos if correctly edited, @Lord_Raptor .

skullo and pullum r NOT low. skullo is the real ryu of the ex series and pullum is Cammy with a floatier jump.
