IIRC EX 1 worked already, but it was really, really slow because MAME’s shitty software rendering.
Yeah EX1 worked, just ran slow as fuck. Emulation wise EX 1 & 2 ran fine on ESPXE.
zinc was already my favorite for fast speed sfex arcade emulation
I’m going for accuracy not speed.
EX and EX2 series played fine last time I used Mame . It probably depends on CPU specs if it can handle it or not , which is why Zinc is probably most preferred overall for the arcade emulation .
Well impact was the first emu which emulated sfex, which then evolved into zinc, then those same emu authors added it to mame via software rendering and no cheats so it was slower but supposively more accurate. but most modern computers should be able to handle it no problem.
Been trying to play EX3 after quitting SF for a long time. But it’s frustrating because the only PS2 controller I have is made by gamestop. It has zero precision and this makes playing the execution-heavy EX3 nearly impossible.
Try local stores, I’ve been seeing some around me that still sell the DS2 controller.
Dont know if it was common knowledge but something i found on EX3…
Blocking standing (instead of crouching) GREATLY decreases block stun. Bison Scissor kicks, Blanka Balls, and even V. Rosso momentary pressure can be punished easily (and the universal cr.mp to cr.mk link of allmost all characters). Makes a lots of matchups (V. Rosso in special) more easy. The drawback is that youre vulnerable low…
But anyways, i supposed all of you already knew this (found out this past weekend).
@Donkus: Here in Santo Domingo we prefer to use PS1 Small Pads. Really confy if you ask me.
Which would have achieved what? I don’t play stick. I only barely tolerated it because I wanted to try TTT2 on the cabs. Unless that was a supergun with pad ports.
Excuse me?
learn stick dammit :V
SFEX3 tournament this weekend at UFGT8. Don’t miss it.
I wish Capcom would buy the rights to Skullomania
SFEX2+ casuals from yesterday.

Not bad matches, never bothered to see if Kairi could divekick after air super FB before. lol Did Momosan play EX before? he looked like he was playing a completely different game’s Gief for most of the set, dunno why it was still so effective against you.
So you have it or you’re just linking that for no reason? =p
I’m a weak player against grapplers in general unless I’m playing a strong zoning character or something. Me messing up Hokuto’s combos from being rusty didn’t help matters and uh, I didn’t know Gief could punish Hokuto’s block cr.HK with a combo into super…I don’t remember him able to do that in EX1. We’re gaming again on Thursday so I’ve got time to hit practice mode I guess. I really don’t like fighting Gief in general though.
I ordered it. It seems like a good stick I guess, so its what I’ll be using.
Yeah he can 360 it on block at the right range in ex1 IIRC. I do remember the sweep being slightly slower in EX2 though. Regardless you shoulda been s.MPing him out of the air. =p
Good. See you at NEC/FR then!
I probably have about 11 hours of SFEX2P casuals, about probably about 5-6 hours of SFEX3 casuals plus tournament. Casuals will mostly be untitled since I didn’t bother to get the name of every player that went to the cab, but one guy I’ll know and mark his. CAJ814
Got 2nd to justin in EX3 this year. Had 8 players so it went ok I guess. It’ll be a while before I can upload the footage though. Lots of Darun play though, mostly CAJ814 lol
Sorry I couldn’t make it this year, because I really wanted to play in that EX3 tournament.
Why is flying from Charlotte to Chicago like 2x more expensive than flying from Charlotte to Las Vegas???
Yes, or cr.HP.
I take it that means you agree its a solid stick?
Looking forward to the EX casuals. Kind of bummed you lost to Justin; it hurts to see who, in my eyes is a specialist lose to Wong but I guess the silver lining is that it just proves more than ever how the EX series rewards SF fundamentals and solid play so much more than other later titles using the SF name. I’m interested in knowing who you used in the tourney/casuals? I’m guessing Ken or maybe Garuda?
That makes two of us; but with that distance, expense and us having to do work now (didn’t you tell me you have two jobs now at FR? I do work third shift now myself). Hopefully next year but honestly I’m hoping we can maybe get something set up at Final Round. I saw Larry running an ST (or was it HDR) side tourney this year. Perhaps we can speak to him about us doing the same for EX.
