So the power foil Bison cover comes out a week after the second print? Can’t wait to see the covers for #3.
I picked up SF #1 yesterday, and I must say…IT WAS AWESOME. There are so many things done right in this comic, I don’t know where to begin.
WARNING SPOILER
Some touches I noticed that I really appreciated:
-the dogs sniffing Ryu and “sensing” his power
-Guile was amazing. I didn’t even like the character before, but he’s just too sweet in this comic to not like. He does standing flash kick! :eek:
-Birdie was a great touch
-Chun-Li’s moves actually looking like what they do in the games.
-The little mini-comic at the end (the broken stick one) was really funny.

I was just totally blown away by this book. It’s everything that I could have asked for in a SF comic. Great job guys, you’ve really outdid yourselves.
I’m also pleased to report that my local comic store has completely sold out of the comics long before they were released. The guys that worked there almost didn’t believe me when I told them that prelminary sales haven’t been that good. They are absolutely selling like crazy here.
Once again, great job and I’m sure sales will pick up once word-of-mouth starts spreading. I can’t thank you enough for getting me excited about comics again.
I eagerly anticipate the next installment.
MIDTOWN COMICS SOLD OUT OF THEM BUTTTTTTTTT, I FOUND IT!,
AT 33rd and 5th av at another comic store, jim henrys or something, had a few left of both covers. I brought both. They are very well done. I love Alvin Lees art.
Issue #1 rules. I loved the various touches and the Cammy cameo and the art and such.
It was over so fast, though! That’s probably because the comic was good. I read through good things quickly. But it does leave one craving for more. More pages, Udon!!!

It’s hard to pull off, and everytime I do it, it’s always by accident.
I live in the Philippines and I still got a copy.
It was delivered here today. Teh mall opens around 10 AM, and I got there by 10:30.
And when I got there, there’s only one available cover variant left.

Hah. Jim Henley’s Universe. I was there today too at around ten ten in the morning and they had a whole bunch of both covers. They must have flown right off the shelves.
Well I got mine recently (around noon yesterday) and gotta say that I absolutely love it.

Aside from the standard issue, I’d like to keep seeing
- The following issues covers (that was a nice touch)
- 2 back up stories (one serious and one funny, just like #1)
Things you could add
- A letters page (ie fan mail)
- A fan art page, or something like a pin up from a fan/diffrient artist each month.
Although I was wondering, why wasnt the Ken powerfoil cover shown in the section of the SF#2 covers?
Also that GAIA add was really a nice touch, Im sure everyone on Gaia who picked up the issue loved seeing that.
So where can I buy issue 0? Can that only be purchased online?
You can only get it online, and Ebay would probaly be your best bet.
I just got issue #1, and I must say…the ammount of work being put into this book is amazing! I’m highly imprssed, and I definately plan on getting every issue.
Speaking of which, is issue #0 still available for purchase?
[EDIT] - Oops…sorry. I guess I’ll be searching Ebay then.
By the way, there are minor errors in the portrayal of the moves there. Well, these are just monor stuff, but these can still be improved.

When Ryu does the Shoryuken, his arms should be straight (not bended on the elbow).

Guile’s flash kick arc faces the horizontal direction, and not the vertical upward direction.
i’m a comic book geek, or a fanboy if you will, and i must say the art in this book is fucking awesome. well, actually i just saw a few promo pages of issue 1, done by comic book artist Joe Madureira, who basically introduced the anime style that you all see in american comics nowadays. i hope i can get a hold of this book, cuz the promo pages by joe mad are siiiiiiiiiiiickkkkkkkk!!! (by the way, Mad’s been out of comics for a long time, working on video games or some shit, i dunno, he should get his ass back into drawing, so check this out, it maybe a while before you see more from him!!!)

This comic is so hot is sick. I saw a thug actually icepick some guy in the throat when he walked out a shop with SF#1 in his hand…and that’s BEFORE said thug got capped by a tinted-glass limo while a guy in a black suit snatched the bloody comic out of hands. :eek:
I thought you were gonna mention that Ryu has the wrong leg up on the dragon punch.
Yes the comic is greatness…the shop was sold out tho…I’ll know better next time.

-A Guy/Rolento story where Guy chases after Rol. and then stumbles across shadowlaw
-Ryu bumps into Sagat and Sagat demands a rematch
-backstory when sakura first sees ryu fight
-backstory od Adon/Sagat
-and please please have a backstory for Charlie
-Gief’ Vs Hugo. . .nuff said
-Rose vs Bison
