Just came back from Bar Fights. I left early so I didn’t catch the Combofiend/Ed Ma match.:sad:. The place was packed! There was at least 250 people there. And with that many people there was so much hype! I got to give a shout out to Luka for being the most hype there. You could hear him from the other side of the bar! Also shout outs to that one guy who gave me that Triumvir Bison poster.:china: I would also like to give a shout out to Gootecks, JChensor, Dogface and all the other people who made this event possible. If you couldn’t make it to this one, you should definitively go to the next one. This event shows what the SoCal SFIV scene is all about!
Some other things of interest.
1.Dae for taking off his shirt and then later Keno during their match.
2.Dae and Keno giving each other a big man hug(with their shirts off) after the match.

This was my first SFIV event and despite not knowing anyone, standing by myself for most of the time, and having to leave early it was FUCKING SICK. This event was so hype and was amazing! I’m really sad I had to leave early, but I had to get back and take care of stuff. Definitely looking forward to the DVD release and to future bar fights!
Combo Fucking Fiend!!! Shit was fucking nice, if you didn’t you didn’t go you are a looser.
Also just came back from Bar Fights - It was too HYPE that it was at max capacity and at times the Jake’s staff were getting pretty strict on letting people to the main area. It was nice chatting up quick with familiar folks from Ranbat 2.1, Mike Ross, Keno, Bebop, Luka, Sanchez, and Dogface. I think no one won 500 bucks from the Beat a Pro contest. Plus, the main area was pretty much an oven full of dudes that I felt like I was at the desert.

Roseball is indeed too hype - I agree with Kai that it is the greatest game ever.

This was freaking amazing, and all the shit I had to go through to get there was worth it.
My friend lost his bank card so he had to write me a check to cash so we could get some money. The interchange was closed sending us miles out of the way. Then because of that we ran out of gas, and the 24 hour gas station we went to was closed for whatever reason so we had to drive not knowing when we’d be out of gas completely to find another gas station.
Back on the road to Pasadena the GPS loses where we are, so we have to guess somewhat as we didn’t actually write down directions. Then finally we arrive at Jake’s. We decide to get food after about 10 minutes, and then after we finish eating we can’t get back in because the place is at capacity.
Gootecks though? He tells me that we are going to get back in, and hey we do, and before the matches start. Good shit. Found a primo spot right under the stairs/Mike Ross to watch all the matches.
Highlights:
Flowchart Ken winning a round in beat a pro
Sanchez vs. Bebop was freaking crazy. The taunts helped.
The team match. I haven’t seen much of Busta but damn he’s exciting to watch.
Hyped as hell for 3on3 now.
The event was awesome. Got there about 5 and walked around for a bit before getting food up at the grill. Damn good burger. Took my cheap video camera along and took a few short videos, mostly shots of the crowd just to show off how packed it was downstairs. I forget which matches I taped, but I got Roseball and Ed Ma/Combofiend for sure. I was really rooting for Ed Ma to make a comeback, but it just wasn’t in the cards. Overall a damn good event, and a great idea. I look forward to going to the next one.
Need to chop the Ma/Combofiend video up before putting it on youtube, but i’ll link to them when they’re all uploaded if anyone is bored enough to want to check them out.
