I drew the viet guy again. i tried to do it with pencils but not being able to zoom out i was too close and the porportion came out all wacked. Then i apply the gray marker and ruined everything.

I’m asking everyone involved to calm down and keep this thread on track. Yes, Sweet has been inflammatory and probably pissed off a whole host of ppl… and he probably deserves a hell of a roasting because if his comments in the past.
However, I am asking that this noise stop NOW.
It’s clogging up a perfectly good thread, and add the fact that Sweet hasn’t been caustic until after provocation… which is rather commendable, given his usual tendencies.

Here’s my sketch that I’ll get around to painting later. His name is Tonbo (Japanese for Dragonfly) and he’s Ryu and Chun-Li’s bastard child! LOL, what did you think a Ryu and Chun-Li fanboy would contribute. :badboy:

During SF3 Third Strike after Chun-Li got her adopted kid back Ryu stopped by her Dojo for a friendly match. A massive storm/hurricane/tsunami what have you struck the dojo and Ryu remained there for three days. Within those three days the two got close and Ryu made love to Chunners. :wow: Ryu was very happy but he told her that he still had to continue his journey but would return when his journey was complete. Chun-Li said she would wait for him. Ryu then met with Oro again (Oro’s SF3 ending) and trained with him for ten years, the training was very harsh and didn’t allow any time to see Chun-Li. In the meantime, Chun-Li was pregnant!
She raised Tonbo for 10 years (just about the time that will elapse between SF3 and SF4 if it comes out in 2007/2008) but had no real way to contact Ryu so Ryu was unaware of his existence. Tonbo grew up without his father but he never hated him, just wanted to be exactly like his dad who’s a famous fighter. He got every piece of video footage he could get his hands on to imitate Ryu, even copied his red headband! He was trained by Chun-Li along with many other students so he has combined elements of Kung Fu and Ansatsuken to form his own style. He is a very strong fighter often defeating foes twice his age. When the SF4 Tourney rolls around he hears of Ryu signing up and signs up right away for the chance to meet his father. He runs off and signs up without Chun-Li on his own and begins traveling around the world like his father, so Chun-Li searching for Tonbo signs up as a late entry and begins to look for Tonbo.
Towards the end of the game the three do manage to meet up. Ryu spends a few months at Chun-Li’s Dojo, Ryu and Chunners marry and they live like a family. But the fight still calls out to Ryu, he leaves yet again but promises to return. Ryu still journeys looking for strong opponents because he’s not ready to give up his lifestyle. He only stays away for months at a time though and always returns to his family.

This is Riot Locks. He was burned alive by Shadaloo agents when he attempted to form his own syndicate and take over Shadaloo territory in northeast US. Riot exhibited an extreme amount of power for someone with no fighting discipline. Because of that, Bison decided to preserve him. Riot was made whole again through cybernetic reconstruction and was in the process of being brainwashed when the events of SFA occured. Riot returned to New York to form his own gang and gain power from the absense of Shadaloo. Riot enters the fourth tournament looking for new recruits and to test the full extent of his power.

This is my first post on these forums. I signed up looking for advice on a stick, stumbled on this thread, and just, WOW. I used to draw a lot, but haven’t done anything in years. I feel like grabbing the nearest pencil and having a go, though I’d probably be ashamed of the results.
You guys and gals are a talented bunch. Here’s hoping Capcom release SF4 on time and make it worth the wait. I only hope they release a special commemorative edition with every SF character ever in one massive SF4 special edition showdown in a “what if” scenario. But that’s just a pipe dream.
EDIT: Came up with a character of my own.
Name: Kert McRager (Kert Mac-RAG-er)
Origins?: The name Kert comes from the word Celt. I replaced the L with an R because it’s an actual name, and it fits with the Japanese idiosyncracy of replacing Ls with Rs and vice versa. McRager alludes to his berserker nature (more on that later) and also sounds scottish. It is pronounced like rag-er as opposed to rage-er.
Kert McRager is a berserker. His father was a scottish highlander through and through, while his mother comes from Ireland and is the ancestor of a famous Irish berserker king. All his life he has trouble with his temper, which isn’t surprising given his heritage. As a child he got into a fight nearly everyday, and he loved it. He soon became a skilled fighter, through plenty of brawling experience and hard work on his father’s farm, which built his up body.
He turned to football (soccer) as a lad, drawn in by the rioting that was often involved. The fact he could kick the guts out of a ball and cause bruising to whichever goal keeper was merely a pleasant side to him. He was known as one of the most ferocious soccer players of all time, and gave injuries which ended the careers of no less than a dozen opposing players.
When he was banned from the proffessional league for his conduct, both on the field and during the riots (not to mention the pub brawls he often started and finished) he was recruited by the army.
He soon made his way to the Special Forces, where his fighting skills were polished to the nth degree, and his rage meant that any opposing force was soon bludgeoned into submission. The fact it often took place on peacekeeping missions soon led to an honourable discharge, with a pension, financing his pub crawls from the top of Scotland to the bottom of Ireland. After spending all his money on grog, he was forced to swim home from Ireland. During the trip, he was attacked by a shark, which he fought to the death, and now wears its teeth on a necklace and has its skull above his fireplace.
When he heard of a fighting tournament, open to street fighters, this pub brawler quickly signed up. Army Intelligence approached him, thinking him the perfect entrant into the tournament, but were un-surprised to learn he was already signed up. Army intelligence asked him to gather what information he could while at the tournament and asked a female Interpol officer to keep an eye on him while he was in the tournament (Guess who that would be? ~_^).
Fighting Style: Kert’s fighting style is somewhat unrefined, due to his pub brawler nature, but it is still brutally efficient, as Kert has learnt to take an opponent out in the minimum time possible because in a pub brawl, there is always another opponent at your back. What he lacks in refinement he makes up for in enthusiasm, brute strength and berserker rage.
Move List: Kert has no projectile moves, a few good grapples and plenty raw power. He has a three hit combo (similar to Fei Long’s QCF P QCF P QCF P) with the first hit being a fireball stopper much like that Russian crazy, Zangief’s heavy punch. The second hit is another punch with good range, the third hit is a football penalty kick type attack, where Kert raises slightly off the ground in a hopping motion (which allows him to avoid sweeps in the final motion).
He also has a Hugo like move, where he smashes his opponent against the far wall, setting up an aerial attack.
Kert also features an aerial attack, called the Barstool Drop, where he rises in an arc and drops drop, elbow first, right onto his opponent.
Kert also features a running clothes line, which can also set up a grappling combo. The running can turn into a football style sliding kick, as a way to mix up the attack, the kick can then turn into a scissor kick with a booted crunch finale.
Outfits: Hert has several outfits. First and foremost is the Scottish kilt, complete with ensemble. Second is hit football uniform. Third is his special forces uniform. All are slighty worn and torn from his bar room fighting.
Super Arts: Kert has four SA so far, though two are similar.
SA1: Kert takes no damage for the duration of the SA, since he’s a berserker and wouldn’t notice it in his rage anyway. However, at the end of the SA, he gets dizzy and is thus open for a free hit.
SA2: Kert takes no damage, but all hits drain energy from his super meter, meaning the super ends more quickly.
SA3: Kert’s damage is increased for the duration of the SA.
SA4: Kert downs a jug of lager, smashes it over his opponents head, beats the hell out of them, then stands up and belches. There is a one in three chance he will throw up and get dizzy, to make up for the extra damage dealt by the attack.
Kert’s physical description? He’s a large, hairy celt. His beard changes with his outfit. When wearing a kilt, he has a full beard. When wearing the soccer uniform, he has a little growth. When wearing the special forces uniform, he has stubble. His hair, and beard, are dark red, with a bit of blond. He has thick arms and legs, his irises are blue, but go steel grey when angry/berserk. The whites of his are yellow from heavy drinking, and go red when berserk.
His skin is fair, but ruddy from drinking and fighting. His nose is large and has been broken many, many times. His teeth are slightly crooked and chipped. His chin and jawline are prominent and strong, but often hidden by beard/stubble.
I don’t have a scanner, and I haven’t done any work on computer with scanned in images, so I wouldn’t know how to colour or clean up the image. I could do some pencil works and scan them in, but they wouldn’t be very good, as I haven’t done any serious drawing in years. If someone would like to have a go, feel free. I’m more of a writer than a sketcher, as you’ve probably noticed.
Sorry for the lack of sketches, but when I saw the thread, it got me thinking, and Kert is the result. Thought I’d contribute something in my own fashion.
