Street Fighter 3rd strike: Online edition

i dont even want the low tier tweaked. the best part of 3s is how there are so many players that are character specialists. we dont counter pick in 3s (of course some do but yaā€™ll know what i mean loll) taking your character to the limit no matter where they are on the tier list is what makes 3s so gdlk.

a cosmetic makeover (not sf4 style) and some new characters and we are gravy. somebody tell that to Ono.

lol. 3s was at sbo last year with sf4 and this year too so please dont act like you know everything.
evo doesnt care about a game if it doesnt have a ā€œhd remixā€ or ā€œhd spritesā€ or didnt come out in 2009 or 2010.

As much as I love 3S, there are a few things Iā€™d love to see changed if they do a rebalanced mode for some reason.

Warning: Reading the following suggestions may leave you extremely salty. You have been warned.

  1. Remove parries completely.

There, I said it. You may begin to crucify me now. If thereā€™s one thing about 3S that I hate more than anything else, itā€™s that the existence of parries renders fireballs as a means of damage and everything you can do is ultimately unsafe. Sure, I got used to it, but this still irks me ten years after I first played the damned game.

  1. Remove meter generation from whiffed normals.

Sitting back and mashing normals just to generate meter is stupid. Yes, thatā€™s my argument. No, itā€™s not logically sound, but, I donā€™t care.

  1. Rebalance the characters in light of these two changes.

It would sort of be a necessity.

Voila, the Street Fighter Iā€™ve been waiting since 2000 to play.

Cool.Was thinking about picking up 3rd Strike again. Arcade perfect port, a rebalanced new edition whatever games fucking fun no matter what so whatever.

Things is, is this game for the Japanese or for the US/Western markets? If itā€™s going to be an HDR style game, or MVC2 re-release where it was entirely catered and aimed towards US fans, then itā€™s not really relevant how the Japanese have an enduring relationship with 3S. The fact is, over in the West by and large itā€™s a game thatā€™s falling into the same category as Vampier Saviour, Alpha 3 and even CVS2- lovingly remembered, played competitively and casually a fair bit, but not going to get back on the grand stage unless itā€™s given a new revision.

I think if 3S was tweaked we might see it back on the agenda with the top players and tournaments featuring it as a main game again.

I dont really need rebalancing or anything like that.

Just tweaks to the game itself, i.e., the wavy backgroundwhen a super was going on, the music/stages from NG and 2I, and the post-fight screens, and iā€™m happy as a pig in mud.

Anyone who wants to act conservative and make out 3S is a holy cow that cannot be touched or tampered with, COOL. Play 3S in the Arcade and on GGPO. Itā€™ll be there forever. Why fight tooth and nail to get a release that has no re-balances and the same netcode thatā€™s already out there. You already have what youā€™re asking for.

I donā€™t think it would ā€˜divideā€™ the community as there will still be a GGPO scene for 3S just like there is for ST, and the new game wonā€™t be at arcades.

Yeah, well, unfortunately, those two points are what keep Third Strike away from perfection in my eyes. I love everything else about the game, however. Enough so that itā€™s my favorite SF game by a large margin. Would those change ultimately make the game completely different from 3S? Yes, but, I think thatā€™s for the better.

  1. by removing parries, then it isnā€™t 3rd strike. the parry system is a huge factor in the game and without it, would change the game drastically. i personally like the fact that fireballs are negated because it is a bit of a change from most sf games that i have played

Drastically changing the game is sort of the point.

Iā€™m excited for this but theyā€™ll have to do something with this release to make me want to buy it over playing it on GGPO.

Darkshire go play ssf4 or hdr since they donā€™t rely on parries. Parries is the first major thing that you should take note on in any sf3. Removing them means making a different game.

Add color edit mode where edits are visible to your opponents online.
Also no balance changes they are not needed plus just look at the name where does it say or suggest anything on balance.

How anyone can say he loves 3rd strike and wish than completly changes and other stuff what makes 3s good?
