Street Fighter 3rd strike: Online edition

Parries or others game mechanics don’t need any changes, the only changes that should be considered are character specific. Top tier characters don’t need any changes.

I’m hoping to see this in one of the upcoming release like this one or mvc3, I want a replay system that can playback a saved replay frame by frame with hitbox display, input display and an indicator for character states like invincibility, hitstun and blockstun. I think this would help everyone learn games indepth faster since anything that happens in a match that is questionable/unknown can figured out just by watching the replay.

after reading lots of posts and thinking about it, i’m still pretty confused about the appeal of a rebalance. i mean, a person who wants a rebalance buys the game. he plays it online for a while and probably thinks he’s having more fun because he knows it’s more balanced. then he goes onto youtube, types in “3rd strike” and cries about how there are still too many chuns in the results and his main character isn’t winning tournaments (since the best players are still playing in the arcade in japan and western players are obviously going to support the version those players use). so what did a rebalance even accomplish? some online players had a bit more fun for a week?

if the capcom unity thread is what capcom is going to listen to, 3s is doomed.

i’m seriously willing to bet that anyone asking for a rebalance on this thread or capcom unity have never placed top 8 at any tournament in their lives. learn the game like the rest of us who devoted many years to this game and quit cryin. this is not ssf4. i repeat, this is not ssf4.

Well you can tell half of the them in general dont even play 3s on a serious level. Or at all even.

Well seeing as it has just been announced 3rd strike online ia about a year away i think its safe to say they are doing some rebalancing work and hopefully some hd graphics too. training mode and trials would be awesome too. rebalancing FTW

well, it is much more awesome to see people here and capcom-unity sign up just for 3S. The only thing is when some of them scream about all this absurd rebalances, but for the most part they seem to want arcade perfect ports.

If we get arcade-perfect ports then we should all be extremely thankful of this alone. Combine that with perfect online play and what more could we really ask for (besides a good training mode for newbs)?

I just think a rebalancing would allow to see different characters rather than yun chun ken.

I don’t think that a rebalance is going to change people from picking who they want, especially if the character is simplified and they think that they have a better chance of winning with who they select. From my experience in this Street Fighter 4, I normally see people stay with Ken, Ryu, Zangief, Sagat, and Balrog. I don’t think that it’s going to be different from Street Fighter 3 with the most popular characters chosen. I see it as a trend.
