This game’s a week and a day from here. 
You guys are making me want to connect my good keyboard and practice some Elena and Alex on MAME. Granted it won’t help much but…it’d be fun.

Uh no you can learn so much without needing anything but a kb. you can spend plenty of time understanding their normals without needing to touch a stick or pad.
Hugo is a solid mid tier character now according to the Japanese so with practice you’ll be able to make things work. He has strangely some of the game’s best normals and has 4 different command grabs all with different varying uses. His clap is a real deterrent against parries also. Once you learn to use him you’ll find he’s one of the most interesting grapplers in the SF series and my personal favorite. Alex is my secondary in this game but he’s more like a semi grappler. He has a lot of non grappler based offensive tools and can close the gap much quicker than a standard grappler type.
I was hoping there would be an easter egg, where if ken killed makoto with a neutral grab, it’d go to the arcade boot screen. Guess that’s not so good for online though aha.
But yeah the twin’s SAIII glitch being gone would be good, even though Yang’s SAIII is only really good against the fat characters.
I’ve seen Yang’s SA3 used often against Ken and especially Yun. Ken can easily reverse super if you do more than the first 2 rekkas of EX rekka or more than one regular rekka. Seiei Enbu outprioritizes Genei Jin also and the meter for it is even shorter which allows you keep him in check. Not that it makes the match in his favor but it makes the match less of an issue.
i think The SFXT Gameplay of hugo got me even more hyped to use him in 3SOE 
If you’re going to be playing Hugo then you already know that you’re not playing top tier. Just man up and squash some meat and don’t worry about it. No big deal.

Hugo can be a very terrifying character, so there’s no reason to assume that he’s bad. If there’s not too many people playing him online, it won’t be because of his tier, but because grappler players have their own niche crowd.
Shotos before top-tiers isn’t a bad guess. Expect Kens. So many Kens. I think the average joe will abandon Akuma after they notice his low HP. I don’t expect too many Ryus either.
I’m hoping to see some low-tier heroes. America isn’t known for that, but it’ll be exciting to see that amazing Q, Remy, Elena, or Twelve.
On a different note. What are some things that the Third Strike community can do to keep the game solid in decent popularity? I think hosting local tourneys is a great place to start. And a 24/7 stream.
Really, what it needs is stream time at majors. The problem is you have all these hours dedicated to pool play for MvC3 and AE. And those matches, when it’s two random joes playing average Yuns and Feis isn’t too exciting, that time could be spent showing top 16 IIISOE.

I tried playing a game online(bomberman)… hella connection drops…
Also Microsoft maintains it’s own servers and therefore the games will not get pulled off as quickly as they could be… Xbox OG games only got pulled off of Microsoft’s servers last year(niggas had the opportunity to play Halo 2 online 5 years later, where they do that at)
iirc, it’s up to the game company to maintain servers for the PS3, and when they decide that keeping the game online are more trouble than its worth, they’ll take it off…
When the console gets replaced in the next couple years, I doubt those servers will be kept up very long…
Whether PSN is a more steady service with people running a cord on the floor like fucking men, idk most will just stick with the wireless feature…
