Street Fighter 3rd strike: Online edition

Lol I was just watching the panel and came to say this.

That means they saw the training mode stuff. Sweet!

Thank you Iron Horse and Derek and Seth and Capcom! Waiting for OE for CvS2 and whichever version of V.Sav is the best OE. I overlooked these games and want to check em out now.

Any chance of seeing “hold to pause” feature added at some time to make accidental pausing harder? I suggested this idea to Mike Z for Skullgirls and he loved it. I have terrible perception of time and suggested holding pause for 1 second, he made it 15 frames and loved it and kept it in, he thanked me at the SG panel at EVO

I tweeted this idea to Seth too and EVO had a bunch of accidental pauses so I think my idea has some weight now.

That’s awesome bro. Pre-ordered last night and thanks for all the tips to playing Ken. Although I always thought cr.mk xx SA3 was the most useful bc it connected as long as the cr.mk hit which was a fast low poke with decent range. BTW, what’s reversing sweeps? Do you mean a sweep on wake-up or…?

this is a great idea!

Doing SA3 to punish blocked sweeps.

This…

The only thing I care about at this point.

Any one cancel or link isn’t ‘most useful’ really. The reason any of them are useful is because of the other options you have for attacking.

Reversaling a sweep would be to do SA3 as soon as you recover from blocking the opponents sweep attempt.

Thanks ESN and Tebbo. Do all supers work like that (being able to counter sweeps after blocking) or does Ken’s SA3 just have really fast start up?

Its has

It has a very fast startup, it punishes a lot of moves that are normally safe when blocked, and the reason cr. Mk To sa3 is so useful is because cr. Mk is such a good poke. Not to mention you can also link from back mk. (on crouched opponent) and cr. Mp so easy.

Startup is pretty fast, but the real advantage is Ken’s leg being able to hit really far from him.

Either you just goofed while typing or you weren’t sure yourself but back mk is a link not a cancel. Cancels are all easy, there’s no excuse really for missing a cancel. Links and being able to confirm links consistently afford you a lot of excellent options with Ken.

Doh, not a cancel. I even meant to make sure i didnt say cancel.

i took a kind of backwards meaning from that. Play only the characters that annoy you to tears so that you can be strong enough for anything.

Certainly it takes intense mental fortitude to fight Oro or Twelve.

Werd. After a set against a savvy Twelve, go ahead and give me 12 Chuns in a row. I just ruled the skies, I think I can manage the ground.

lol i cried when he said that. i was only trying to encourage discussion by analyzing the few videos in existence. didn’t mean to imply the team performed some unspeakable sacrilege against the arcade audio. i just want you to love me derek. but on the plus side it gave them another good thing to say about the game to help promote it.

btw, can you only use the theme using the psn account with which you preordered the game?

I doubt it. It’s just like any other theme. You DL it and it gets saved under theme settings.

Let’s start a 3s council. I will be the voice of the council. I don’t think I’m quite there enough to be more than a voice. The voice owns everyone not in the council.

Wow I can’t believe I just found about this just now.
Apparently someone figured out how to run any CPS3 game with any (working)cart.

So what that means…is now you can buy any cheap, working CPS3 cartridge(ie new generation or second impact) and run third strike instead.
Even better news is that the person who did it, is close to figuring out how to phoenix carts.

So even if this game isn’t arcade perfect, it’ll soon be possible to own a working third strike board without having to spend so much.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm this smells good.

Can you clarify?
Are you saying they can use a different cartridge and flash a 3S rom to it? If so I haven’t heard of that before. Where’s jedpossum. Need clarification.

If you’re just saying you can use a different game’s board then yeah that’s been the case since CPSII (no idea if that’s uniformly true).
