The complaint isn’t about the flaws themsevles, but it’s about the fact that there ARE FLAWS. The game is supposed to be “arcade perfect.” To most of the die-hard 3s fans, this means that the game should have been a port from ARCADE. The fact that there are these graphical inconsistencies imply that at the very least, the started by porting PS2 or DC or something that wasn’t… you know… arcade. And, because these errors exist, long-time players are fearing other things which actually effect the gameplay might pop up here and there, such as; Yang and Q slow down, glitches they forgot to simulate that are not on the PS2 version, unblockables (but I guess Ryan having played at SDCC shows they will work at least to some degree?), timing for everything, and tooooons of small things that are different on PS2. Personally (as an Oro player) I feel like Tengu Stones act a lot different on PS2, and that they are worse on PS2. I hope the Tengu Stones do not feel worse on 3so than on arcade, because I will have to switch my main. Would you say that effects my game experience a lot? I would. I’m “that dude who plays Oro and goes fucking crazy when he plays.” Now how would that title suite me if I was forced to switch to Elena. Let’s just avoid the whole mess by porting from arcade, yeah?
I can see why people complain about the HUD and audio, since there is no real reason to not have the old versions selectable, but I don’t see them as problems. I think it’s weird that they shrank down all the super meters.

I think that if CAPCOM clearly defined “arcade perfect” to be something other than a direct port of the arcade version there would be none of this so called “ridiculousness”.
I dont hear anyone complaining that the game is too much like the original…that there aren’t enough changes/improvements. As I was saying before, 3S was a perfect game before this online edition came around- but here’s the capcom crew, sticking their dirty hands in the cookie jar and (dare I say) selling out to appeal to a new crowd? I am glad there is an online version of 3S, albeit I would have been 100% satisfied with a direct arcade port with a simple online mode menu and replay save. I just wish capcom wouldn’t be so ashamed of the original, all of the weird cosmetic surgerys are disappointments that are piling up. Please Capcom, be humble and let the game keep its dignity.
Wow, this is coming out on the during the first week of fall semester?
Nice.
I’ll have to make some time for it someway or another…
Why are there so many cosmetic changes going on with all of these games… aren’t the one they’re trying to do here, similar to what they are trying to do to Ultimate Marvel v. Capcom 3?
You know, I recall sometime in late 2009/early 2010 there was actually a well supported proposal from here that, instead of an “HD Remix,” all 3rd Strike needed for a (then un.announced) re-release would be an updated interface/HUD to make it look good in HD. And now that Capcom listened and we’re actually getting just that, people are all complaining
Most of us aren’t complaining that 3S is getting a new interface/HUD. The new interface/HUD is just really ugly.
Even then, these are all really minor gripes for me. I still really want to get this because like I said a while back, gameplay will always be the deciding factor and I’ve yet to hear anything bad regarding that.
as for topic, naw I really dont think you wanna change anything. 3s players obviously want an arcade perfect port(at least identical). revision can be an extra mode like HDR had.
Funny how all of the newbies just accept whatever is put in front of them without question or complaint. Welcome to the new generation of fighters, lol
