Making a new character would be bad, because no matter how good the character is, it would probably fail in most people’s eyes.

Ok now that I have that off my chest? Personally, I would like Capcom to make an arcade perfect port. However I think whichever route they do go I think they should choose 1 or the other. 2 versions of the same game in 1 release will split the user base of the people that bought that game let alone the community as a whole. Instead of pointlessly arguing over balance what we should be doing is rather than trying to change or not change the core game play, suggest actual FEATURES that we would like to see implemented. I will list my thoughts in order of importance.
Input config done properly ? S/SF4/TVC button config screens are TERRIBLE. 1 thing I?m sure we can all agree about HDR, is that it?s button config is perfect
GGPO netcode ? To all the people saying things like
WRONG. Newsflash, GGPO as a program is not perfect. Things like SUDDENLY BLACK LINES, chat just flat out not appearing, random disconnects due to server load, people?s PCs not meeting system requirements, people not being tech savvy enough (port forwarding, host files, etc) are issues holding GGPO back that just wouldn?t be present in an official capcom CONSOLE release. Not to mention the automatic boost in user base. Besides, Why would Capcom licence GGPO if they have no intentions of using it?
Trials/Tutorial mode ? 3s has a pretty harsh learning curve as it is and throwing new, un-primed, players in at the deep end against people that have been playing for years is just begging them to quit before they even get started. I think being shown the timings with pre-recorded sequences like in Tekken or Killer Instinct gold would help a lot
HD filters ? While I?m not in favour of a full redraw of the art (HDR style), People do like things to look nice and 3s as it is will look pretty bad on our big HDTVs. Some simple filters like KoF 12 and MvC2 would work wonders.
A feature rich training mode ? Some things I?d like to see here are match request in training mode, hit box data, dummy recording/playback, being able to choose from a list of combos/moves to be shown with input data so players can learn timings and motions.
tl;dr: Lets stop whining and arguing over meaningless stuff and get some constructive ideas/discussion going.
Man one of the biggest things people bitch about is Ryus fake fireball an addition that got made at the behest of a high level player.
i feel like the game should be balanced a bit (mainly make lower tier a bit better to compete, because face it they were low tier and nobody plays them, so if they get better they cant hurt, only help because the top tier will still have their same moves, its just they will have to fight against opponents they used to stomp on with more caution. bringing the bottom up will make for variety, its better than bringing the top down) however i feel that should be up for the pros to decide. Why? because when anybody has a say, shit gets fucked up. case in point Alien swarm for PC. yeah i know what your saying, its a top down co-op shooter. but that doesnt mean it shouldnt be balanced. the game had a weapon that was slightly OP, then Valve being the listening company that they are, listened to all the people who claimed that despite the fact that they cant play the game well, they should be heard. so valve was like cool we’ll listen and do exactly what you want and they totally ruined that gun because they did exactly what the community wanted. it does shit damage and the stun isn’t good enough when fighting a swarm of the swarm on insane. moral of the story, let people who know the game well decide whether a game should be re-balanced, and if they conclude that it does need balance, let them figure it out because like with Alien swarm, tf2 and possibly future games, you might get a re-balance, but you might not like it.
sfiv was rebalanced in a decent enough to sasfiv. they left the engine unchanged (unfortunately) and made minor tweaks to characters to make the game better balanced. 3s has a good engine, so a few buffs to te lower tiers and annoying shit removed from yun and chun wouldn’t be a problem.

This will certainly not stop me from playing 3S in the arcade. It just means I don’t have to hook up my PS2 as often anymore.
