Street Fighter 3rd strike: Online edition

If you can’t deal with genei jin then stay on fadc ultra and mashing out srks in the middle of a block string and trying to figure what moves are “safe” on block. Nothing is safe in 3s

Hmm, anybody wishing they would’ve voted against bringing this to PSN/XBL? I didn’t see anyone complaining when it was on GGPO.

Why settle on a perfect port when there’s an opportunity to improve the game?

Music too. Don’t forget about the music.

Also Katriana is the only sensible poster in this topic.

That’s right, it would be the same game to me as a player. None of the changes would affect whether I won or lost against random online player.

But that’s not the point.

The point is that a rebalancing would give me incentive to buy the game that a straight port wouldn’t. And that means Capcom would get another sale. And I think it is a better business strategy to make the potential market pool as broad as possible than to cater to a small group of sacred cow worshippers.

If MvC2 didn’t get a “remix” mode, why should 3S get one?

Repeating that line doesn’t really do anything for you, just makes you look kinda like an ass.

well i mean this kind of seems like a bigger release than the mvc2 port given that its called ‘online edition’ and so yeah it just seems more likely

That would be assuming that the cost to rebalance the entire game doesn’t outweigh the “broader potential market pool” you speak of. A straight port would be cheaper.

It’s a crossover game. MvC2 was never meant to be taken seriously.

To my knowledge, it wasn’t playable on GGPO, and the only Arcade Perfect Port was on the Dreamcast, and it was HORRIBLY short produced on the PS2.

Using that logic, why not say “ST got a remix, why shouldn’t 3S get one?” … Not to mention that the new 3S has a special subtitle, so it’s not hard to assume there’s going to be some changes.

But the real answer is that Capcom could not have improved upon MvC2 in any way.

Wasn’t part of the way the contract was set up with Marvel that they couldn’t change any part of the game besides adding online? (In addition to not being able to release it on disc).

Straw man… what MVC2 got doesn’t have anything to do with what 3s should get. However, I think it is an indication of which direction Capcom is leaning towards. If they decided to do MVC2 as a straight port after seeing HDR’s financial results, it probably means that the expense of doing HDR was not worth the return it got and a straight port could make just as much money as a remix with less effort and less financial risk.

That’s actually true. Forgot about that.

bout fucking time
and this game doesnt not need shit tweaked cept for graphics!
rebalanced means kof 12 all over again! fuck that!

wow way for everyone to answer his question wrong except me

…what.

Well, I’m not a forum random, so I know people. I don’t need to be a top 3S player, to know what they think. Some of my very best friends played 3S at high level.

ITT: People spit in the face of progress and are afraid of change.

If you want a perfect arcade port of the game you already have that however most of us aren’t going to buy the game again if all they did was stamp “ONLINE” on the logo. We can already play the game give us incentive to play it again.

To those saying “Well you’re not pro so your input doesn’t matter” well its great that you think that but unfortunately this ins’t up to you to decide whos input is worthy thats capcoms job.
