It looks like this thread isn’t entirely dead, so let me ask… can these be had for a reasonable price anywhere? Everywhere I’ve seen wants like 80 bucks plus significant shipping, which seems a little high. I’m thirsting for the Happ experience.
It’s a huge stick. Shipping makes sense. Honestly for a happ stick I’d go a new Mas route or a custom route. I know @Devistator is a stick maker. I’m not sure he is doing requests but the sticksame he makes could possible fit happ parts. The 15th ainversely sticks are not well made and probably fading by now
Shipping makes sense, but 80 bucks for a used stick that sold for 40 new? As nice as it looks, as I think you have alluded to, it’s glued-together MDF with knockoff Happ parts and a reportedly bad PCB.
Bao Lian parts. Good stuff.
Disclaimer: I have not purchased anything from the site I’m about to list BUT I have seen a number of SF 15th Anniversary sticks in person and I cannot imagine that a new handmade MDF case is going to be worse than a used SF15 case.
Ok. ahem If you’re really thirsting for a case that will take American parts you may wish to check out: https://www.harumancustoms.com/products/stand-alone-controllers/the-fighter
There…fixed that for you.
So what’s the deal with the PCB on these? I remember being quite pleased with mine back in the PS2 days. I had a full suite of adapters I used with these and my HRAPs and the SF PCB worked with every single one, with no lag I could notice.
From what I recall there were 2 different pcb’s for these. I had no issues as well. I used it with a total control plus adapter to play on dreamcast and never had any issues.
I vaguely remember that now you mention. I did get both my sticks fairly newly available. Maybe I got two good PCBs before they cheaped out on subsequent runs.
