Haters gonna hate. [insert Ibuki taunt 9 gif]
I somtimes get rage from either vocal, or mail. Dropping those f-bombs everywhere hasen’t been any easier for them.
Is Taunt 9 the one where she kind of walks around in a circle and drags her feet? If so, that is the BEST taunt.
Playing against Mike is the best. You don’t even need to try to get him mad.
He gets mad the second he sees you hovering around Ibuki at the select screen.
What do you guys do that makes people send you hatemail? I never get hatemail People actually compliment me or send me friend requests. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!?
Aha same in France with Starnab (you’ve probably already seen his Fei Long somewhere), just seeing you selecting Ibuki makes him rage.
Probably because you’re playing against good players and not scrubs
Ragemailers are just scrubs. Good players would rather tell you "gg"
Seriously, raging against someone online just means we don’t accept loosing. Sometimes I get angry while playing online (ranked matches frustration, eh) but sending a rage message to the opponent would be soo kiddish.
Funny thing, yesterday I went at the arcade after working ('cause I can’t play at home right now as I live temporarily at a friend’s ), started a beat by, a random guy came, took Guy, got almost double perfect’d, I heard him hitting the arcade SO HARD and just leave. THIS IS IBUKI.
For the europeans here, there is a French guy, GT xxxxMORDESAIxxxx , he plays a (very good) Claw, but whenever he looses he’ll instantly ragemail you. You can just type MORDESAI RAGE on youtube, I think you’ll find a loooooooooooot of things about him ^^ . Hope you played him, he doesn’t know a single thing about the Ibuki matchup or once he’s down, he’ll just rage.
Does he ever show up to offline sessions? Maybe it’s because I don’t know French, but all his rage messages sounds like he has a SEVERE mental disability and rage issues.
Borderline Tourettes Syndrome.
Does anyone think that TC10 xx SJC Hien is a good idea? Most of the opponents I’ve seen block low after I do TC10, so I just do a jump-in. I think this could be a good setup for super.
Using Hien is almost always only useful to land Super or get that last bit of reset damage or chip to finish off your opponent. The primary reason for this is because Hien is punishable by several members of the cast, even on hit (thanks Capcom for the useless move).
I think it’s a good way to setup Super, but it’s not always you’re going to have a fully stocked super anyways. And I usually expect my opponent to block high until I train them to crouch block with SJC cd into meaty lows.
Yea I know! STUPID CAPCOM!!!
I was just messing around with the SJCs and wanted to mixup my launcher followups cause I usually just do a SJC lk after TC10 or the cr.HP juggle reset thing.
May I give a useful advice for Ibuki players out there?
Guys. Buy KOF and try it. Try all the trials.
Then come back to play Ibuki.
I swear, like, two weeks earlier I was hardly able to do a st.MK SJC U2, and now I land it 4 out of 5 times. I actually bought this game so as to improve my stick handling and I was definitely right: if you’re able to pull out KOF’s HD combos in trial, well, a genuine SJC U2 will seem VERY easy for you (damn you Elizabeth and your evil juggles)
Another thing, a bit unrelated, but Ibuki related
You guys probably remember when I was speaking about the neckbreaker - st.LP - SJ kunai ?
So. This setup will guarantee a safe kunai against a reversal shoryuken.
I said earlier that the kunai has to cross up to make it combo.
I was wrong.
The timing is a bit hard to get, but you just have to vary the exact moment when you’re throwing a Kunai and throw it a bit earlier.
Moreover, throwing it earlier will NOT crossup (mindfuck FTW) and will guarantee you to be safe when landing (unfortunately, the crossup version will let you land with a bad frame disadvantage, I got caught by Guy’s U2 earlier, I guess Yun’s U1 & any ultra in which the player stays at the same position while being invincible would hit Ibuki).
So I guess this is a really nice and guaranteed setup for a kunai throw.
I don’t know what do you think about it, but I personnally prefer having some tools to measure time, rather than just going out of instinct & habit. This is why I’m working a lot on how to measure kunais, especially them.
By the way, how would you like a Kunai vortex thread here? I feel like this is still a missing point in SRK. If anybody needs this as much as me I’ll prepare a thread for this matter, I’m currently training a lot on my safe kunais and I guess everybody would like to do it as well
Guy’s U2 is like Ibuki’s U1: they both start up in 1f. Yun’s U1 starts up in 9f, so I doubt there’s a real comparison here.
I’m also not sure how you’re getting hit with these ultras. Are they doing it on wakeup, making the kunai whiff? Or are they blocking the kunai, then mashing ultra?
The kunai vortex thread was combined with the first post/page of this thread, by some Ken babboon guy or whatever. I say if you want to make a new, up-to-date 2012 version, go ahead.
For the sake of misinformation, please don’t say this. It is 1+1 normally, but 0+1 on Reversal.
Don’t all ultra/reversal ultras work like that?
@Mingo:
I just got hit once today. Didn’t know a single thing about Guy’s U2 -_-
He mashed it on wakeup actually. I believe I just timed it wrong.
I’ll prepare a kunai thread when I’ll finish my kunai researches
Oh BTW Sako’s way of kunai’ing after a Tsumuji just rocks (saw it in last Sako vs Tokido match). He’d normal jump a bit later, and throw the kunai at the last moment (when Ibuki is just above the opponent’s head). It’s safe to Ryu’s shoryukens and can easily be transformed to a normal jump (not sure if safe) or even empty jump. Will work on it to see what can we get out of it
What normals do you guys wiff to help time a vortex/fake vortex set-up these days? I’m getting good results with st. LP from a neckbreaker, but what about Tsumuji?
Question already answered in the vortex thread, huh?
Sometimes I accidentally do an instant HP kunai after a neckbreaker and my opponent reads wrong so I get free hit confirm ultra
Footsies:
Everybody should know by now that if you go for a max distance slide and you opponent neutral jumps you could lk kazgiri them for free unless they have a brolic neutral jumping normal (like Bison’s HK) where you would have to use ex. But if they try and jump over you as you slide your lk kazegiri will auto correct and still hit them (not sure about ex). Am I the only one doing this?
I usually do cl.st.HK, but Kazegiri is a good idea as it’s a lot faster.
Also if I predict the neutral jump (I doubt they’re neutral jumping on reaction), I usually dash up or walk forward and cl.st.HK.
