surprisingly… cvs2 @ whimsy always… seem to be kept in great shape… never had a problem except this one time the fierce on 1p was broken… but they fixed it the next day… but cvs2 is HOT right now… i dont know why though…

mvc2 scene is pretty much dead in stockton… according to what i see… there used to be good comp here though…

News Update: I’ve spoke to Whimsy arcade manager. Peter (man-in-charge of arcade) said that he’s been looking for a 3S machine for 6months now… and that it will be available ASAP… so I guess stockton’s 3S scene is going to come alive somehow… cross fingers
I also called Naughty Nick’s to fix their 3S stick… have to check back if they really did or not… i doubt…

that’s what im saying too… but they provide the best service (stick/button wise) in stockton in terms of arcade so… until the scene gets any bigger in stockton… i think this is how it’s gonna be for a while… sucks…
Don’t get too excited about Stockton players. This always happens. A bit of interest is shown and then people start playing for a while… then they want to throw a tourny. Then they get owned by players from the Bay Area and then it all dies again. Besides… all they really have interest in doing is fixing up their cars. I have seen this cycle many times. I think that they should just really give up since they will never be able to compete with some of those Bay Area players.
wow ur helping out the scene in stockton… i dont even knw why u would post this… you should just keep it to yourself if its gonna happen again then u dont have to tell everybody on the trend. keep it to urself…to tell you the truth i came from stockton and dominated all but the elite back in the day like ricky o or john choi(which i have beaten in casual and i never played any of these players in tournys but ricky) i live in san diego now and gotten a lot better in my match ups. now i beat players like viscant, clockwork(yes he plays cvs2), and amir… i went to family fun arcade which is like the sunnyvalle golf land of southern cali and beasted everyone. so dont go around saying theres no chance for us stockton players to ever compete… oh yeah i did play in a recent tourny at nickel city if u want to look that up… its on the front page of shoryuken under the top tourny update…im m.a.d. and ill try to enter as much tournys to represent stockton.

Well, I’ll second the statement about pimped out cars…seems like that’s where all the money in that town goes.
Anyway, y’all shouldn’t get discouraged. Other less competitive areas are coming up because they have tournaments often, gatherings at houses, shit like that. At the very worst (assuming you can’t gather enough players up there), just go to tournaments elsewhere. I know it’s kinda far, but people are travelling just to play these days. Look at Fairfield…last tourney had a really good turnout for all games, and good players came from the bay area to be there. A couple months ago, no one would go out there, but they fixed shit up, and were persistent in elevating there competition.

You just proved my point. You came from Stockton, but moved out for whatever reason and got better. Congrats on beating those players… but none of that can be said for any of the players that are currently in Stockton. Yeah I sucked and thats why I stopped. And the only reason I posted that was to warn you about it. Also that some players in Stockton are cheaters and thieves… you should have one of them explain what happened at the last tourny that was thown at SGL. Well… I know none of them will come out and say it… so I will… everything was looking to have been going well… decent matches… respectful random trash talking… then… suddenly the tourny money goes missing… and so does the person who initially started organizing the tourny. Fishy how those two coralate. In the end my friend ended ponying up some money for the first place winner and was responsible for putting in the apex points(which he would have done anyway since he was the only one on the system). But if you have fun beating on crumby players… then thats on you… but if I had a choice… I would defenatly go to the bay area for some better comp. Or anywhere else for that matter. I hear Modesto players have stepped up as well. But at any rate… it wasn’t a direct stab at you. Just keep an eye on your game and your wallet.
