thanks as always to everyone for coming out wednesday night. as is the case lately lots of new (or newer) faces which is always a plus. AKA i don’t believe i got a chance to talk i to you in any depth, but you were the one whooping people’s ass in CS2 right? (i can’t believe i’ve been holding these casuals for months and i’m still putting names to faces.)
for a minute i thought we had a fairly ample amount of setups but there’s so many of you fuckers coming out now that the more setups others can contribute the more games everyone can get in! besides as rex said, there’s so many fucking games now that just came out this year (mvc3, ah3, mk9, cs2, etc) and throwbacks getting resurfaced (darkstalkers series, ggxx, sfiii3s, cvs2, alpha3, snk games) … that accomidating everything is a bit tough… but i love variety and think its been making our scene really deversified and really fun. i’m almost curious how it is in other cities … obviously everyone nationwide is getting bombarded with these new releases and the general uptick in interest in fighter games has caused a renaissance in classic games, but do other cities really get down on as many titles as we seem to be lately?
in any event i’ll stop waxing poetic on the topic and just say … GATHERING OF THE JUGGLE PROS : MAY 25th … the first MK tourney at Danno’s is going to be hype. Tekken6 and KOF98 also on deck for that one. we will be having another capcom based tournament next month but i want suggestions from the board about what other games should be played in STL Bar Warz tournaments? let me know and we can make it happen.

Sorry I had to jet so soon; no real marvel tournament and the fact we had fish and live crawdads in the car meant going home early. Hopefully next week will be better. Looks like the MK turnout was high at least.

Kiet your 2 day cyrax is still really good. you surprised me when i seen you pulling off some of those combos. you just had a bad matchup going against the guy who really dosnt block so jump punch into grab would wiff on that.

That Chameleon vs Akuma video was sweet slips i just watched it. That part where akuma pull out ironmans Proton cannon was funnny i was like wtf.
O yea just a heads up to the mk9 players. PDP MK9 Tournament is Today. Team Spooky i think has a stream of it if u wanna watch it. just to help level up. Im ganna be watching it when i can after work tomarrow if its still going on after work.

Actually, I just learn cyrax this morning. Those two were the first human I use that toon against. Should come early to get some casual on. At the end of night, I think I understand cyrax game. I was learning as I go. I don’t think I’d lose to them again. Cyrax is way too cheap. He has some flaw though.
Not a bad game, the crush system is really apparent in this game. More so than tekken.
I notice I’m falling behind in mvc. It’s time for me to put more hours in it. Haven’t really practiced it much.

Those guys in the store had some fight in em though and 5 was cool but that easily could have been a 10 man tournament. I’m starting to feel like Aaron scaring everyone off from playing :(.

GG’s to everyone at the MK tourney. That Kung Lao matchup is so hard. I had some really dirty corner reset traps worked out but everytime I got in position on Jody and he didn’t have breaker I got nervous and dropped my shit, and then he’d get out and put the pressure back on. If I was calmer I think I would’ve at least went to a tie breaker, but I’m happy with my results anyhow. Cyrax is too fun, I’m gona play him even after he gets patched.
@Rex - I’m still working on Marvel. I woulda played yesterday but it was Marvel or dinner. I can’t just donate you money like that when I gotta eat. But thanks to your tips I’ve been leveling up a ton playing with Ben. I still don’t have any fancy MODOK combos but I got a hang of his playstyle.
If anyone wants to get in any games hit me up. At the moment I’m playing just about everything. Hell, I even told two friends of mine I’d pick up Tekken because they want to and they need help getting started.
If anyones hosting hookups on monday or tuesday let me know those are my days off. I should be attending dannos again wensday if everything works out.

Voracious Ways - Yeah dude I was the one playing CS2 and asking you about the internet settings. Steve introduced us, but I have only been to two hookups at Danno’s so far. I won’t be at the next one most likely, but will definitely be at the one after that.

I could host a hookup monday if somebody could bring a system that hooks up to my CRT and especially if somebody could bring a full setup so we’d have 3. CS2, MK9, and Marvel 3 each having a setup would be ideal.

in a logical sense, its everyones bad. other people cuz they cant learn quick enough, and your bad for being a dick by destroying them senselessly. now, im not saying go easy or give them free wins, but maybe play a new team so that way both you and the other person still go hard until you think they are ready for your main team. you are toooo focused on winning(mags team), you kinda forgot to have fun with the rest of the other people playing.
if they cant go even with a new team you play, then its obvious they dont have potential at that point if you think about it(from a competitive standpoint). its common sense/human nature that no one will give anything a shot if they have 0 chance of winning(again, same as before).
now, you knew something like this was possible(since you stated what i quoted). then why did you do it?
