I’m sorry? Are you the pot trying to call the kettle black? I’m sorry, but prove I’ve been just as hypocritical as you in here, and I’ll retract my statement. Until then, you made yourself look like an idiot in six words.
- I play more than SC4, and I play more SF4 than Soul Calibur right now, so there goes your blanket assumption.
- I’ll post what I want unless you can show me a badge that proves you are the STL thread sheriff.
Except you haven’t been accused lately of saying it to people’s faces, it’s to their computer through yours. See the difference? One’s being a man and saying to their face, the other’s hiding behind your computer PLAYING the man.
And before you even try to refute it, I would say everything I said in here in public to your face, and if you came up trying to debate this at AR2, I’d say exactly what’s on my mind right there. That’s me, I don’t have to hide behind a computer to say what I want.
So yeah, if you want to bring this up at AR2, then find me, several of the people in here can point me out to you, and I’ll be more than happy to have a dialogue.
That I don’t take offense to. Friendly smack, that’s fine. I do that, if you didn’t in this scene, people would think there’s something wrong with you.
Except in a growing scene, you say something like that to the wrong person, things can get real. I’d hate to see someone get jacked up over something stupid.
Did I DIRECTLY threaten violence? No. I am not a violent person. I’m not going to walk around looking to throw fisticuffs; fists would already have to be flying at me for me to throw down. I’m just saying, be careful who you talk to like you have been. Do you really want to see cops called at a tournament? I sure as crap don’t, that’s detrimental to any growth in the tournament scene.
I’ll search it to prove you right, but the main person I saw post that was Nick.
but again, you make assumptions about people’s situations and assume that everyone’s like you and show up wherever, whenever, and sacrifice everything in their lives to show up to meetups. i have:
- School
- Work
- Church
All three of those take time out of playing. And once again, there’s the whole driving a total of 5 hours for meetups that would take away from the above 3, and that makes the though of showing for meetups unfeasible for me. Once again, you can make all the assumptions you want, but not every situation is as black or white as you make it out to be, and to continue to act as such is foolish.
I see that, I’ll say that to people, but when it comes to the person in question, I will find a more constructive way to tell them what I noticed.
Not everyone takes “You suck, get better” as “constructive criticism,” Glen.
People HAVE told me how to improve. That’s it. There was no “you suck” in front of it. Oh, and guess what? I still improved. People listen better to people who come at them without slapping their ego in the face. So you can either be the person that helps players improve, or you can be the jerkoff who just told them they sucked, they ignore the rest of what you said, and they usually don’t improve.
Some may respond well to your arrogant way of putting things, but cynical bluntness usually gets any form of constructive criticism ignored.
