Yes, just say that you want a one-off color and your color of choice will be Black.

I understand if you’re wary about your paypal being posted. I’ll PM anyone who would prefer not to post their paypal address.

Ah, darn, I knew I forgot to ask the guy about something. I’ll bring by my TTT shirt and ask if he can do something a little something akin to the custom lettering.

I could consider adding a bit of extra text, too. Printing on sleeves, though, would require an extra screen and printing, and drive up the price. However, if we can fit any pertinent info on the screen on the front, that would be okay, too.

I’d like a black shirt with my name on it if that’s possible.

Size of 8-buttons.

So, on a side note… We can only get with Child’s Play official calendar if we agree to donate 100% of proceeds.

This is a bit… bittersweet, to say the least. I mean, sure, we’d raise a lot more than we’d spend, but still, that’d leave SFJ hurting in the end. I do want us to have money for the purpose of getting us out farther. I want us to have money to actually do things. I know everyone wants the whole 100% deal, but I wish they could be thankful that we’re even giving them anything. Anyways, I’m just a bit angry at the situation

So, I’m a bit at a loss. I don’t even know if they’ll accept a “Oh, we’ll just give you 100% in that case, though it’s not something we regularly do.”

Another issue is that I can’t quite tell if it’s still okay to use the name. I’ll ask and let you guys know. I’d really like to have a charity instead of just pulling something out at the last minute that would sell, and hardly even getting a response from the recipient .

If you guys want to go 100% proceeds to charity, voice your opinions. I will say that while it isn’t impossible to do, it will make it harder to grow and expand. For example, say that TOs decide that giving away panel space isn’t exactly the best idea. Maybe they’ll work with the price for us, but being a bit unheard of still, they’re not gonna give it for free. Or maybe they will, and one of our major expenses will be covered! But that’s still iffy. And even if they DID give it to us, then that just means we have X more dollars after expenses versus paying it.

I’m not trying to be money-hungry, and I am saying it’s possible, it’s just going to hurt us, and I don’t feel comfortable at throwing all the money we make away. What’s left for us to keep building sticks? Nothing. And though we started from nothing, I could understand if some people would be willing to work with us at a reduced cost, or if they’ll build/make this for us, but only after their expenses are covered.

Just at a glance, you could say that Evo costed us a lot, and we only kept a very small percentage of what was “profit,” airfare considered, we easily spent about $800, I don’t think keeping $160 to build a new stick (which was about what our initial donations were at, anyways) is some sort of scandal, it’s just money to keep us going.

Again, though, if you guys want 100%, please say so. We can do it, there’s just going to be some consequences when we continue on. Yeah, I’ll pay what I can out of pocket, but having a broke college kid funding your organization is not where you want to be.

Anyways, be sure to get your shirt pre-orders in or something. Or find us a new charity you’d like me to contact that’ll give us some credibility. Or something.

I always wanted SFJ to give 100% all the money received from raffle.
All expenses have to be paid out of ourselves.
Donating people is help us with that.

Its hard to say…the way I’ve always personally looked at it is for 100% to go to charity after costs have been paid out so that people aren’t left in the hole.

100% after costs != 100% of proceeds, unfortunately, and even then, we still donated more than that.

100%, but we need more people to donate.

That is what I thought SFJ was when it was first made.
The donates from people is what help SFJ.
The raffle is what 100% for charity.

But then come Evo 2011, I did not like that some was saved.

I agree with jdm. A non-profit is just that: not for profit. Parts and expenses should be covered from outside donations, and the raffle money goes purely to charity.

That actually sounds much better, hmm…there has to be a way to do this.

What if in the future…a donation drive to set up the actual building, then anything after goes into the donation setup afterwards?

That or we make a list of parts and labor and people donate those.

Thats how I thought it was done before? Maybe I was wrong Hmm…

Yes, that is how it was done before.
Which is still being done now.

The expenses we are talking about is regarding the cost to become a real Group.
PayPal would not let SFJ have an account for donation.
And then costs for bank and article.

And for Tournaments, if Organizer wants money for booth space.
That cost should not be taken out of the raffle.
Donating people is for that.

It was done this way, but shipping was an expense, and that’s where the original donations went, by en large. Another thing is that not everything can be donated, and that having a small amount to keep funding projects would be good.

I’ll admit I saved the money to help us. Mostly to stay afloat rather than having to rely on donations. It’s a nice idea, but I am not totally sure

I’m seeing that most people want to go 100%. I understand. I am just reluctant to give away everything, because then it’s just a gamble if anyone really wants to keep going. Give it all away, and even if we have people interested in donating stuff, they’ll still have to pay shipping, something which I would like to eliminate on behalf of sponsors (unless if they really feel like paying). I am appreciative of all the donors. But, donations aren’t guaranteed, and a lack of funds can translate to not having anything being able to be shipped or done (say, if we can’t pay for a panel or something). However, saving just a bit of the money that we’ve already earned is much less risky.

But, hey, I can say that we’ve deliberated and decided to go the 100% route and get on that calendar. I just want to point out how reluctant I am. It’s mostly a decision of wanting SFJ to be able to support itself better versus SFJ being able to have a good name attached to it. Both are good outcomes, but what does a good name do if we have no money and collapse? That’s just the dilemma I’m facing.

Problem with this is if we can’t get a panel under $240 (current donation tally), then that’s a no-go. With the money from Evo, that’s now $400, which is a somewhat more possible amount. Say it’s $500, I’ll pony up $100 if nobody else, but not $260.

Donations aren’t unlimited, and with the amount I’ve poured into this to try to stay away from the donations to help us use them when we need it.

I’m not saying take EVERYTHING away from the raffle. I’m saying save some for next time to help us support ourselves.

Having Childs Play on board could help with getting more donors.
