+1 thx
When I’m bored of SF, I can always play something else with the stick, there’s dozens of great arcade games on XBL that don’t require dual analog sticks to work. Like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Fantastic with arcade stick.
I use a stick because unlike controllers it doesn’t kill my fucking thumb, fuck!
Is that “to be cool” bit a direct quote? If so, that is very upsetting.
Anyway, I came from no stick experience at all up until the release of SF4 and I decided to buy one, and I’m glad I took the time to get used to it. It felt like I was starting over again, but it was well worth it. Just keep with it.
EDIT: Also, playing on your lap is convenient just because you’ll never be without a surface to play on.
I recently switched to stick a few months ago, and it took me a while to adjust, like a couple of weeks. For the most part I’m slightly better on stick than I was on pad, but I still get stupid stuff every now and then like a missed IAD and eat a combo cuz of it. Also, I can’t really say for sure if using a stick has improved my game, because I practiced like hell to get adjusted to it, and learned a lotta new stuff along the way. But either way, I’m sticking with it, makes it much easier to do multiple button inputs.
Yeah, I use my lap most of the time, works fine for me. But if you are using a lightweight stick, I’d use like a small table or something, cuz they move too much.
I was so used to arcade cabinets, that when I get my first home stick, sitting and playing with it sliding all over the place in my lap felt totally awkward and unplayable, but before I knew it I was totally comfortable with it.
Securing the stick on a flat surface will help, and I prefer that as it resembles the arcade cabinet experience.
